who else is a glutton for punishment?i.e. installs own audio
 

well, after spending a whopping 5 hours running my current, RCAs, installing a gain control and line out converter somewhere in the crevaces of my dash, ripping out my whole dash AND taking out the backseats, everything is wired to the back finally and ready to go for a trip to the Historics.

fyi. i just put in my brand new 1000W Image Dynamics ID Max 12 v.3 in a custom ported box with a MTX Thunder 801d. this thing is supposed to outhit a JL W7. :twisted: :twisted: :shock:

I haven't got anything special (just a 3-ch amp, 10" sub and 6x9's) but I know what you mean since I installed it myself and it was a long job....but worth it since I saved a fair bit of $$$.

and like was aforementioned, it isnt all about watts. HOWEVER, this is in completely custom built built ported MDF box (beautiful) and this sub is one of the best out there.

damn, thats a ton of work. I'm not that good at that shit, just get someone to do it for me.

Prefer SQ to SPL any day.
