That's the kind of car we don't get over here and that's why it always has some sort of "american magic" to my European eyes :D and hell, 170'000 miles is quite an achievement already!

Thanks for the custom shot of course.

nice pics dude, whats the hp and performance figures on this car?

T-Bird 08-08-2004 07:46 PM

well I can keep up with Mustang GT guys and my buddy's Z28 but I'm not sure what the power is now, My dad rebuilt the engine at 100,000 miles with Ford Racing components since they were cheaper somehow, that and I have Cobra fuel rails and a K&N FIPK I would guess like 270 but It's not at the point where I would waste money to Dyno it.

hemi_fan 08-09-2004 12:55 AM

lol, and here i was still thinking it made 500hp... after seeing the engine shots tho, i knew otherwise. Nice car! I thought of buying one if you remember waaay back... too bad they only come in automatic :(

T-Bird 08-09-2004 01:01 AM

yeah my dad wanted it in Manual soo bad when he bought way back in 95 but they just weren't available still a good car and a pretty nice tranny since it has electronic OD disingage. And when you shift it yourself it shifts when you tell it to so you can redline the piss out of it and it won't shift.
And I've seen T-birds that look stock in the engine but make bitch loads of power so remember looks can be deceiving.

tigerx 08-09-2004 01:12 AM

quite a sleeper, it's one fine car.

LOL!

Nice motor. I bet you can get it past 120mph though? :D :D :D

T-Bird 08-09-2004 09:38 PM

oh yeah they go faster but Ford put 120mph on the dial for insurance reasons I've managed to get it to 120 before and it still had some left in it but I had to start slowing down.

T-Bird 08-15-2005 12:02 AM

well I decided to do a slight visual change to my car last week I painted my wheels Black I think they look decent since the wheels won't be on there much longer anyway

http://img185.exs.cx/img185/7080/dsc030246ay.th.jpg http://img185.exs.cx/img185/4480/dsc030256pn.th.jpg http://img185.exs.cx/img185/7258/dsc030260uv.th.jpg http://img185.exs.cx/img185/5068/dsc030282wx.th.jpg http://img185.exs.cx/img185/6686/dsc030278pz.th.jpg

OH and the reason the car is sitting infront of my shop is because I blew the engine friday night. I popped it off the redline and BAM! I burnt off all 5 quarts of brand new 4 day old Royal Purple and then it sounded as if a Piston was just slapping around in there like crazy so tomorrow I will be taking a closer look at the engine to see what really happened. But I did order a NEW engine for it anyway rated at 525 Crank HP to start with then I'll break it in then blow it and possibly even Nitrous. I'll swap out the 3.73's for 4.10 or higher change the tranny and gut the sucker.

antonioledesma 08-15-2005 12:08 AM

sorry to read that again tbird...
looks that you're happy with that little accident :P
what numbers do you plan to obtain with the mods to the new engine? close to 650 hp? torque? any figures?

5vz-fe 08-15-2005 12:14 AM

Maybe put a limited slip diff in while you at it

T-Bird 08-15-2005 12:17 AM

well stock they said I should expect about 500rwhp and about 550rwTorque. in the end I expect over 700rwhp without the bottle to start and I'll see where it goes from there. It is going to be a project car with my Team at school for nowbut I plan on running the thing for years evolving as I go. For now it's going to be another 4.6 but eventually I will punch it out to 5.2. I will port the heads and everything first thing though I have to strengthen up the body/frame to handle it being that it is a unibody. I don't plan on having this thing done for atleast 9-10 months it will be atleast 1-2 before I have the engine since they are a small company and alot of people order engines this time of year so they can build the car over the winter.

Already had Trac-Lok in it. :D although it needed new clutches...

Man I am glad I have my Pathfinder right now or I'd be screwed.

5vz-fe 08-15-2005 12:21 AM
