Depends what you mean by tuned? Mercedes havent made their engine more powerful but it is now supposedly more reliable. They are getting the speed from a new aero package and a completely redesigned rear end and suspension set up...

What he means byn tuned is Mclaren most likely increased the revs a bit to get a bit more power for there home GP.I think they did aswell.I dont think that will affect the reliability of the engine for the race because they can de tune it for the race.I think the have a good chance of winning but shit, after i saw the french GP I don't think there is any thing M.S. and ross brown cant do.

I don't know what they have done, but it looks like a whole new car, (not exterior) but I mean look how reliable it suddenly is compared to the Mp 19, I think that they have a pretty good chance to pull in a good result but I don't think that it will be enough to win from MS and Ferrari :?

it'll be a shame when all that hard work leads to an engine failure

Its only the second race of the 19B. I have to say i would never think they would do it so quickly cos in F1 every step foward takes quite some time. I just hope that they keep improving cos i'm a bit dissapointed with the other teams.
BAR was promising alot in the begnnig but i think the pressure is starting to take control. Renault are a one off all the time, they are good in one circuit and the are bad on the next. Williams have a horrible season compared even with last year. This improvements are very important for the sport. |
i hope mclaren is finally ready to assume its rightful position as ferrari nemesis, next year should be interesting with kimi/jpm and perhaps a mclaren car that can rival ferrari ... that would be cool

It all down to team budget. BAR is still a relatively small team when compared with Mclaren. They prolly write up so many paychecks for their engineer's overtime. That said, I think Mclaren is no where near Ferrari (i.e. Dennis is talking rubbish again), if it wasn't for the safety car, Kimi will be at least 20 secs behind Michael. Divide that 20 secs in 60 laps....that's 0.3333 secs, I seriously doubt they can find that in 2 weeks. Adding to that, Ferrari prolly already have something up their sleeves that they haven't pull out just incase their rivals got closer near the end of the season.

well they were very fast with hte car for this year but it sucked, so they had to change it mid-way in hte season, and here it is. hte car for next year will not be this one (also i think its hard to really work on a car for next year already with all the uncertainty about possible rule changes)
|
for me they have just launched the new model....the 19B, and they have made improvements in the new car, once they have done well the work in every sense, the car must be reliable enough not to have any mechanical problem on race, on the other hand, the Mclaren team in supposed to be on the top of the grill fighting against BAR, Renault, and Williams according to the McLarens budget. In addition, because of the improvement of the performances of McLaren, it doesnt suppose that they have tuned the engine, just mostly because theyve got a big car manufacturer developing the engine, and on the other hand due to the budget of the team
