Australian V8 supercar news...

Ambrose was recently stripped of points in a round after officials found a plug onto the ECU. They of course run a control ECU.

I have it from reliable sources that the data downloaded from the chip by officials indicates that at turn one every other car was at about 45% throttle through the corner....Ambroses showed 100% for much of the corner.

This would suggest TRACTION CONTROL was being used which is completely against the rules.

Trust me this could be big. If the controling body treat it as it deserves to be treated. Will be interesting to see what happens as they were having an appeal on this matter heard tonight.

Cheers,
Russ

Keep us posted. Austrailian v8 races are incredibly fun to watch.

Very interesting...

You wouldn't think they would even try cheating tho. Seems a bit stupid what with scrutineering and all.

I don't think he was cheating, because after it was discovered the officials said they didn't strip him of the victory (just the points) because the breach of the rules didn't give him any extra performance.......which would rule out using TC.

I see he has got his points back on appeal. I think they are sweeping it under the carpet. Today I saw the data, it may all come out in the wash but he is almost definitely running traction control, there may be another explanation but the data shows he has 100% throttle on the mid to exits of most corners.... If you have the races on video, have a look and see what you think.

^ Who exactly are these reliable sources you talk about?

sads 07-10-2004 02:49 AM

Ambrose seemed too have all the luck when he needed it last year and it seems hes getting it again this year.

Hegemony 07-11-2004 10:50 AM

As I said in a previous post I have seen the data myself

Ford Capri 2.8i 08-04-2004 12:07 PM

Its possible that Ambroses team has been cheating some rules, as any brand and driver try to get any trick in order to get any title, once it gains a lot of money, for a good motorsport enthusiast though, any electronical aid such as the traction control, the electronic launch control, the sequential gearbox, the telemetry....should be banned in order to benefit the spectacle, the slides, the pure driving,......

Lol! yep so true!

Well that extra cord they found was just a cord. lemme explain, its like having an extention lead plugged in but on the other end isn't plugged into anything! He had no advantage, as for the dude saying he saw the data, please i would love to see the evidence myself, maybe in picture form or what ever!
