New McLaren Supercar

With all these rage of supercars, Enzo, Carrera GT, Veyron, SLR, Saleen S7,Murcielago, Zonda, who would like to see another new McLaren supercar??? it would be great to see a new design for the McLaren F1 or a whole new McLaren supercar (im not talking of any Merc, or BMW) im talking of a pure McLaren!! :o

i doubt if this would happen. they just released the SLR with mercedes. i don't think they'd put out another supercar anytime soon. i don't see the point why they should compete with a car they co-produced and co-developed with mercedes.

McLaren is not very far in development at all..they dont even know what kind of chassis it will be yet, I read that it is going to compete with the gallardo and the 911 turbo and cars in that class..however it will be built in merecedes factories..

What a waste. I don't think there will be another "McLaren" road car in the sense of the F1 ever again. I really can't praise the "Driving Ambition" book enough.

There won't be another pure Mclaren car ever cos Mercedes has a big share of Mclaren now. If I’m not wrong and I think I read this not long time ago, Mercedes were actually thinking of buying a bigger share of the Mclaren so the to some extend Mclaren would be part of the Mercedes Group.

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! That would be horrid. :fist:

He7Lius: Currently MB owns 40% of McLaren. They have been tryign to persuade the three owners of McLaren-TAG to sell out a larger stake. My guess is it won't happen, esp. in light of MBs inconsistent engines in F1.

Apparently there "will" be a baby mclaren coming soon, scheduled for 2008 i think, codenamed P8 and is being designed and built to rival the likes of the 911, gallardo and 360 with that sort of price.

PATo355 06-30-2004 04:11 PM

There are romours saying that McLaren will produce a range of supercars to battle ferrari , porsche and lambo , others say that the MB range will come in 2 tunning formats , the ultra fast AMG and the bizarre McLaren form .... dont know what they will do with the Mc laren name , but i want to see :D

mindgam3 06-30-2004 04:28 PM

I really wouldnt like to see MB take more and more of mclaren. I think better cars would be built if AMG just gave mclaren their engines and let them get on with the rest.

chipanggo 06-30-2004 09:31 PM

nice photos mindgam3. i've never seen that before. let us just remember that a lot of concept vehicles never make it to the production line. hope this car makes it though. it looks pretty stunning.

I would like to see another McLaren supercar. But not a Mercedes McLaren. There's nothing wrong with the McLaren Mercedes SLR, i think it's great. But i'd like to see another extreme supercar that is lightweight with a V10 or V12 engine.

fabro_s 07-01-2004 01:14 PM

Well, with mercedes having that percent of tha cake, I think its merely impossible........ :(

number77 07-01-2004 01:54 PM

It is real that mercedes is building another car with mclaren, but it won't top the SLR
