What I Drive - Mini!
Hello, I'm brand new.
Saw this site advertised on a top gear video, so I thought I'd check it out. I'm from Adelaide, South Australia, and we can't watch top gear over here, so I've had to resort to downloading bits of episodes. Anyways, I drive a 1968 Morris Mini Deluxe. I've upgraded it to discs and 12" rims just last week, looks a lot better now. Here's some pics, sorry if they don't load quickly :(. New wheels: http://redleader.mine.nu/albums/Mini...2740.sized.jpg On the track: http://redleader.mine.nu/albums/Vari...Mini.sized.jpg This is what I used to drive, before I decided it was cheaper to race a mini! http://redleader.mine.nu/albums/Z/low.sized.jpg Anyway, thats me! |
Excellent! Welcome aboard! Mini is always nice classic.

Thanks for the support guys.
It's funny how my 35+ year old, 38 HP mini gets more looks/attention than my 200+ HP Z ever got. The mini is more fun to drive too, and the seats in the back are bigger :). I don't have any idea how many km's it's got on it. It's all in miles, and its got about 90,000 on the speedo, but I don't know if thats 190,000, 290,000 or what! Next on the mods list is some shockers and maybe a sway bar. We'll see how it goes at the track. The plan is to do a mod, take it out to the track and see how it goes before doing any more mods to it. I'm about to join the local modified mini club so we'll see how that goes. Further on down the track I'd like to put a supercharger on the 998. There's a supercharged mini running around our local racetrack and I watched it gain on a turbo FC RX7 down the straight, it was awesome. I'm a bit of an hobby photographer, and I love taking photo's of cars, so hopefully I can contribute some nice shots soon. Thanks for the feedback guys. Hopefully at some point, I'll even be able to download some movies and stuff! |
amazing how these things just keep on running and running, does anybody think the new mini will be here 40 years from now ?

Great car mate. I love it. Keep it beautiful!
More pictures are always welcome. If you could make a wallapaper sized and quality picture that would be great. I always wanted a nice mini desktop. |
I doubt the old one will be running in 40 years, despite the fact that its probably a lot better made.
The original mini is still running because its so damn simple. No crazy electrical system to go wrong, and 5 million or so were sold, so there's lots of bits around to fix them. The new one is too expensive to ever sell in those numbers, even tho its an excellent car. I'll have to give my car a wash and take some photos of it in some nice light for you guys. Next time I take it out to the track I'll stick the camcorder in it as well. |
I learned to drive in a 900cc mini :)
Funnest car I ever drove. (as in FUN not funny... ;)) |
