Chaos in 1983! 06-10-2004 10:00 AM

Web Site developers I need some help please!

I need to make a small e-commerce store...it´s just a small experiment for class...it´s not even gonna be online, it will run directly from my computer offline...don´t worry about secure connections, online certificates, and all those things....the site won´t be online as i mentioned before...

So here´s the deal...it´s an online grocerie store, with about 30-50 products...I would like to display them kinda like amazon does...a small picture and description...I will also need a shopping cart...but I have no idea what I need or how to do it...I don´t know what kind of database I need, or how to connect a database to the site...I kinda know my way around dreamweaver, but just basic stuff...

If someone would be kind enough to help me...I´d be eternaly in debt with you...please I really need some help with this... :?

I think there is plenty of free software around that will allow you to do this that allows you to enter your data and then it creates the store you want from the templates supplied.

It maybe crippled so you cant actually take any money from customers until you register it but then this wont matter to you.

Try a search on www.download.com

Good luck

So they create the php and the mysql for you ? or they just create static html webpages ?

For my part,

chaos,

I think you need to do it in php/mysql.

Create a small mysql database... it should be like:

|ID|Name|Description|Price|

Then use php to browse data from your database.

Ask if you still need help.

I think thats the one I saw...I am sure there was a free version of it at some point though. Like many things you get what you pay for I guess.
