See what happens when CPU cooler is removed
Take a look to this video: http://www6.tomshardware.com/images/...pu_cooling.zip
And see the difference between Pentium processors and AMD without the cooler. The AMD literary BURNS. Another thing: don't try this at home!!!!   |
this is something only a computer nerd would find interesting :P

I used to have an AMD Athlon 1400 and it needed a very noisy ventilator. Then when day, after having the comp switched on for 10 hours, my CPU quite simply burned :( I was also forced to purchase a new motherboard.
Very interesting video, thx for sharing. 'Toms hardware' is a gr8 page. |
damn the failsafes in the intel chips
lol |
Interesting, i have an AMD and i hope it won't happen during the night or when i am out :?

hehe that's too damn old, I think all of you with Athlons should not be afraid, when this video was shot it was the old generation of Athlons and motherboards, later the issue was remedied completely. Only worry if you've got an old athlon and motherboard, like 2 years old or something
