Nos Question ...

What are the least requirments of NOS on an engine , both push button and continous injection ....

Tomerville 05-23-2004 05:18 PM

are you talking about nitrous oxide? or the Holley namebrand NOS? It depends on what shot you are running. They make 25 shots for Quad's, dirtbikes and motor (on)road bikes.

saadie 05-23-2004 05:34 PM

Nitrous Oxide ...... NOS and nitrous express are brands tht makes all the stuff like Nitrous injectors cylinders and all ... and yah im talking bout cars not bikes ...

jon_s 05-23-2004 05:45 PM

I 25bhp injector is the minimum I believe 8)

saadie 05-23-2004 06:17 PM

ermm .... i mean ,like, the bore .... whats the minnimum 1.3 liters ??? max revs ??? temperature threshold etc etc ?????

and one more thing
GLI = Grand Luxury whats "I"
and wahst
GTI = ??

jon_s 05-24-2004 10:43 AM

In theory, anything. I could put nos in my RC car lol

As for GTI, have a look in the trivia section, there is a post freom quite a while ago about it.

stracing 05-24-2004 12:56 PM

here there is a honda civic gli. i wonder how grand luxury is that

saadie 05-24-2004 04:06 PM

thanks Jon_s 8)

here the best car is CIVIC .. lmao .....

my mum is prolly gonna buy a car in the next month .. its prolly gonna be a Civic Exi or Baleno(esteem) 1.6 GTI

NOS requirements depend on what kind of car/engine you have. For example, if you have a strong or decently strong engine, you can just bolt on a kit without any other mods. In my 5.0L, ive read that you can get a 100 dry shot of NOS without any additional modifications fairly safely. Maybe even push a little more on a stock motor, but the more power you go, the more risk of an explosion. If you have a weak motor, then you could need to do a lot of mods to the engine... im not sure exactly what, i hope that helps a bit.

Like jon_s said, there really is no minimum requirement and in theory you could put it on any combustion engine. There are certainly things you could do to the engine to make it handle the nitrous a lot better though. Adjust compression, stronger rods/pistons, etc. If your planning on putting it on a stock 1.6l, I wouldnt suggest a very high shot, maybe 25-50.

Best thing to do would be to contact a nitrous company such as NOS or Nitrous Express and ask them what kind of set up to use.

But be careful, ive seen bad things happen with an ill-prepared system. If your engine blows up, youve used too much LOL

saadie 05-25-2004 02:48 PM

thx guyz fer all yer help ...... i've seen lotsa blown engines ...... ma mom gonna buy a car ... i was thinking to rice it up ...... last time i tries to rice the old car ... ma dad said "SON WE(dad and mom) ALSO HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR, SO PLEASE SPARE IT" lol ...

Codence 05-30-2004 09:57 PM

why the heck does your mom need nitrous oxide!? just save your money and let her be in the comfort of a safe and sound car.

and for input most tuners run 50 shots and drop at 8k rpm. its a higher risk for bigger engines because theirs more rotational mass and more stress on the bottom end of the block. most people who run big time nitrous have heavily stroked and sleeved motors so they can handle it. ive ridden in a few smaller cars with it and its not all the movies proclaim it as.

cars suck.

graywolf624 05-30-2004 10:14 PM

If you have to ask, you shouldn't be running nitrous. It is really dangerous if you don't know what your doing. Some would argue it is the direct opposite of what you want to do for reliability.

saadie 05-31-2004 01:51 AM

well .. offcorse i am not gonna add nos in the car ... over ere its abt 2.5 times more then the price of the whole kit in america ... here only 10-12 ppl got nos and only 2 of them live in ma city ...

spyd3rr 06-05-2004 12:15 AM

not only is NOS dangerous, its basically like cheating lol. cheating comes at a price, if u get caught, ur f*cked. or in this case, if u don't know wut ur doing, u will make ur engine blow up.

just my $.02 hehe
