Never seen that pic before either. Any history on it? Is it a real Cala?

mendocino 08-17-2003 04:57 PM

Just a tough : It maybe an italdesign for those who remember it... of course with a lambo badge...

mendocino 08-27-2003 08:15 AM

Yep, I 've checked and I think it's an italdesign CALA, not lambo....

Yea, it's in Need For Speed 2... the intro video for the Cala racing with XJ220 was excellent :)

However, it's still true that Cala is a lambo prototype:

1995 Lamborghini concept by Italdesign.

Giorgetto Guigaro used Lamborghini's earlier prototype L140 "mid-size Lambo" chassis and 4-litre V10 engine to build this fully working prototype. Presented at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show, the 2+2 "Cala" received mixed reactions. However due to Lamborghini's Indoneisan owners lack of direction for the company and internal dissent at the time, the Cala never became more than a prototype.

It used to be one of my favorites in Need For Speed 2SE. Which I still have, and install sometimes. It has a great selection of cars. Anyone interested in this classic? I could make an Image and share it on Kaazaa/

My favourite is the Italdesign Nazca C2, it feels more nimble and powerslide is so controllable. What's your favourite track in NFS2SE?

I think I'll install NFS3 again and cap the intro video. EA used to make good intro videos with real cars for the NFS series... now, we only get the CG crap :(

My favorite track is Australia, what is it called??? The outbacks or something like that. The FordGT40(not sure if thats the correct model) is a killer on that track. Actually I think Im going to intall the game now :P

mendocino 08-27-2003 04:08 PM

Yes it's a cool game, including a lotus elise GT1 if I remember correctly...great game and great videos!!! I'll install it too :D

AlienDB7 08-27-2003 04:14 PM

My favourite is the Vancouver (Pacific) track, for obviously reason. Don't think there was a GT40, you probably mean the GT90 with their "new edge" design?

AlienDB7 08-27-2003 04:22 PM

Since everyone is installing, maybe I should too. Have yet to try the game out with the wheel, hopefully it supports FF for sidewinder. Stupid wheel doesn't have any resistance unless there's FF support. What wheel/pedal you guys use for the game?
