Ferrari to build new 'Dino' ...

Hmm, I hope this isn't a repost,

According to 'Channel4 Car' (original article by italiaspeed) Ferrari are planning to build a new 'Dino' to rival the V8 vantage, 911, etc.

http://www.channel4.com/4car/news/ne...?news_id=12219

To me, this is a really strange and dubious report, as I have recently read an interview with a Ferrari boss in which he said that Ferrari had no plans to make a lower-end car, they wanted to maintain the current status of the Ferrari 'brand' and not add to the lower end of their vehicle types.

Personally I was impressed with the official interview and really glad, I hope this news is not true. :?

I'll try to find the interview and quote him exactly.....

we've heard this one several times before, and I'm pretty sure this will not happen...

IF they bring back the DINO, why would it be cheaper than the f430?

Erez 04-24-2006 12:33 PM

we can only hope they will make a new dino.. well i know i'm hoping..

nejcdolinsek 04-24-2006 12:34 PM

Theres no way in hell they'll do it. If they do, I'll be PISSED OF :x :x

They won't make it, Ferrari would loose it's exclusivity. But they could name the future 430 replacer (rumoured to have a 4.5L V8) the Dino.

This seems to be the most logical decision for Ferrari.

"Last May I was invited to place a order on the much speculated Dino. I put down a deposit fully refundable incase the project did not get the green light.

Today i recieved a phone caller from the sales manager letting me know that ferrari has officially given the go ahead and that the Dino was planned for production. Unofficiall pictures were published in the german Auto Bild Magazine.

Coupe allocation for end 2007 and Spider for 1st quarter 2008 "

Se solo potevo tradure... Almeno e una persona che dice che Ferrari gli ha invitato a comprare la nuova Dino che vienera in 2007 e la Spider in 2008.

Like some people say, this will not happen. Maybe they will name a Ferrari Model the Dino but they won't make a budget Ferrari Im pretty sure of that

I'm sure a lot of people would ditch their 911 if there was a 70k Ferrari. Perhaps the cash would give much needed cash to the rest of Fiat.

Exactly thats the thing :!:

I thought this were good news but after reading your posts I changed my mind.

You're absolutely right, it would be very bad to see as many Ferrari as I see 911's now. A Ferrari isn't a car for anyone and it should stay that way 8)

BTW. I read in a portuguese forum that Ferrari is developing a 4WD system called "insertable 4x4". Read more here:

I remember they were talking to the Boss about this when the 599 was released. He said they will not make a Dino, because they do not want to dilute the brand.

He said they want to focus on getting cars to the customer faster instead of these extended wait list a la 2 years for the F430.
