Camera Settings

Hi. I am planning on going to the British Motorshow in two weeks time, and i am taking my camera with me.

I am still relatively new to digital photography, and the environment inside the show is different to anywhere i have taken photos before. I want to get the best pictures possible, and so need to know which settings to use on my camera to ensure the pics turn out at their best.

My camera is a Canon Ixus 400 - 4.0m/pixel

Settings include..
ISO Auto/50/100/200/100 (at higher speeds, you don't need to be as steady to get a crisp picture, but when i get home, the picture appears grainy :?)

White balance .. i figured Auto WB
Exposure .. goes from -2..0...+2
Focus... Close Up/Normal/Infinity
Flash ... should i use it near the cars?
Focus On a spot/spot in centre of a rectangle/anywhere in the frame

Thans in advance..any advice is welcome :D

For such events, I'd say to leave everything in auto mode: ISO, WB and so on

As for flash, I suppose there will be LOT of light already, so you won't have focus problems because of slow shutter speeds or so on..

And anyway your camera is a "point and shoot" one basically :D so it gives your best in auto mode :D IMO

And get yourself a monopod... great tool that aids to get clear shots...

And do not be afraid to use the flash to cut out reflectiosn and glare...

Thanks for the help guys :D

TT - i thought auto mode would be best.. i'm not ready to adjust everything just yet

RC45 - thanks for the tip about using the flash to "cut out relections and glare"..i had no idea this worked :)
Also..i know somebody with a monopod.. if he will lend it to me i will definitly use it, as i have problems holding the camera still... don't worry, i haven't got the "shakes" like an alcoholic

LOL anyway in places where there is enough light, the shutter will work faster enough to avoid your small movements to blurry the picture :D and if I can take sharp pics, everybody can :D
