^^yeah, there seems to be two camps, some say the Miura will definatelly not be reincarnated, some say it will. However, if A007 info is correct, then I'm damn dissapointed:/ I hate the fact how brands like Lamborghini loose their exclusivity by sharing components with other less prestigeous cars in order to save money. First we find out that the future RS6 will be fitted with the Gallardo V10 and now this :(

Looks like good things are on their way! Got Automobile Magazine and here's what they have to say.

"Lamborghini will revive its most storied nameplate, the Miura, for a new range-topping supercar. "It's our answer to the Ferrari Enzo. It is a radical car in many ways, it is very light and powerful, and yet it's been engineered more for the road than for the track," says a highly placed insider.
Lamborghini will adapt the mid-engine chassis of corporate parent Audi's upcoming Le Mans coupe to make the limited-edition (300 to 400 units) Miura. Since Audi itself uses an evolution of the Gallardo's spaceframe technology, it is relatively easy to reskin what is basically the same structure. To be assembled alongside the Audi, the Miura will be lower, wider, and shorter than the donor car and could look like our exclusive artist's rendering. It also gets a unique interior with a minimalist cockpit and a period-look center console that eschews such modern conveniences as a navigation system.
The running gear, however, is totally contemporary and includes carbon-ceramic brakes and a paddle-shift transmission. Whereas the Le Mans is fitted with a 5.2-liter V-10, the Miura will boast an upgraded version of Lambo's 6.2-liter V-12. The displacement increases to 6.5 liters, the power to 700 hp, and the torque peak to 553 lb-ft, sources say. The engineers would love to see this beast be rear-wheel-drive only, but they will more likely share a rear-bias version of Quattro all-wheel drive.
The car's design incorporates subtle overtones of the original Miura. While the proportions and some of the detailing hark back to the late 1960s, the surfaces, the greenhouse, and the stance are quite modern. WE could see it in the flesh as early as next year. Georg Kacher"

Also in the magazine,
"More Future Lambos
The Miura is not the only addition planned for the Lamborghini lineup. Two more new models are in the works: modern reinterpretations of the LM002 and the Espada. We'll also see a big power boost for the next Murcielago.

2+2 Coupe
A four-place coupe, Lamborghini's first since the Espada of the 1970s. Could be mid-engined, a derivative of Audi's Le Mans of the Gallardo. Alternatively, might go front-engined, using the next Audi A6 as a base. Supercharged 4.2-liter Audi V-8, the Gallardo's V-10, or the Murcielago's V-12. Could arrive in late 2007 (mid-engine), 2009 (front engine).

LM00X
High-performance version of Audi's upcoming Q5 crossover SUV. 400-hp V-8 or supercharged 500-hp V-10; air suspension.
Four seats, accessed via "swan-wing" doors or rear half-doors. Expect it in 2008.

Watch Out, Veyron
The Murcielago could get a massive power infusion in its next generation, with an all-new 6.0-liter V-12 pumping out 1000 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque."

funny how that picture looks nothing  like the Ford GT... some artists need more inspiration... and the image doesnt look like an Enzo killer.

some reason, i dont see lambo bringing this car out anytime soon... particularly before the Murcialago SV/GT, and the forthcoming super Gallardo.

even if they do, to me the Muira is a supercar, but not a hyper car... to me, what the gallardo should've been.

good hunting a007apl

" Lamborghini is beginning to show Hyundai-like aspirations, reportedly planning to grow its product line from two to five models in the next few years and compete in entirely new segments. Inside Line reports the Italian automaker is planning to introduce a new Miura based on the Audi Le Mans with an upgraded 6.5L V12 engine producing 700 horsepower. Perhaps hoping for a piece of the SUV pie before it’s all gone, the company also is preparing the LM00X, a high-performance sport-ute with either a supercharged V8 or V10 producing 400 and 500 hp, respectively. Finally, a new Espada 2+2 coupe is also in the works, though whether it would be mid-engine or front-engine is still up in the air. As a bonus, Inside Line also says the next Murcielago could get a version with an all-new V12 producing 1,000hp, which would make it the first direct competitor for Bugatti’s Veyron and give parent company VW two ultra-mega-super-exotic cars in its stable."

"Lamborghini to Resurrect Miura, Espada
Date Posted 10-04-2005

SANT'AGATA BOLOGNESE, Italy — Lamborghini is readying a major expansion of its product range as the Italian supercar maker draws even closer to German parent Audi.

As early as next year, the Italians plan to introduce an all-new Miura, Lamborghini's answer to the Ferrari Enzo. It will be derived mechanically from the midengine Audi Le Mans. The Miura will be lower, wider and shorter than the donor car. It boasts an upgraded V12 engine. The displacement goes up to a massive 6.5 liters, and the power output increases to 700 horsepower.

The next all-new Lamborghini is code-named LM00X, a high-performance version of the future Audi Q5. The LM00X features a choice of two engines: a supercharged, 4.2-liter V8 good for 400 hp and a supercharged, 5.0-liter V10 rated at 500 hp. The LM00X will be introduced in 2008.

The third newcomer is a 2+2-seater coupe, a reincarnation of the Espada. The choice of engine options ranges from the Audi V8 to the Lamborghini Murcielago's V12. A midengine 2+2 could be production-ready by late 2007, but a front-engine version would likely not appear before 2009.

Lambo also is looking further into the future for the next-generation Murcielago, including a limited-edition supercar derivative powered by an all-new 6.0-liter V12 that would match the Bugatti Veyron's output of 1,000 hp.

What this means to you: With the help of Audi, Lamborghini plans to revive two classic nameplates from its past — on modern chassis. "

imo .... audi shouldnt make the LM00X or the 2+2 espada or anything ...
they've made a mistake by making Gallardo ... they should just make a new muira .... settle down for a couple of 20 years .. and then make a new V12 lambo ..... Audi has literally killed the lamboness that should be in a lambo

The Gallardo is one or if-not the best selling Lamborghini, there was no mistake with making the Gallardo. It laid waste to the competition it was developed for and it is one of the hottest looking cars of its era.

That Espada photoshop looks awesome!
