Cool car.. a small step toward new ways of moving around, not really "clean", but way more effective than the Lexus RX hybrid
And pretty cool with it's screen monitoring where power is going :)

LotusGT1 12-08-2005 04:17 PM

Seriously uncool. Very clean car, and very futuristic, but that obviously doesn't make it cool....treehuggers drive these.

AlienDB7 12-08-2005 04:18 PM

Seriously uncool. Some say the Prius is a statement. It is, but not about being an environmentalist but being an idiot who pays more to save gas/petrol when you can do better with diesel.

saadie 12-08-2005 04:24 PM

all the performance and technology aside .. it looks pathetic ...

ARMAN 12-08-2005 05:52 PM

Uncool - its ugly as hell and according to TG useless. Poser-mobile i'd say.

DMbaseball1604 12-08-2005 06:22 PM

Toyota makes some of the most reliable cars in the world at affordable prices, and they are improving their cars with technology to help their cars be more efficient..and on that basis I think its cool

gucom 12-08-2005 06:29 PM

cool for being an effort to make a step in the right direction...wouldve been more effective if it combined electrical power with diesel tho...

graywolf624 12-08-2005 06:32 PM

seriously uncool..
Not really good for the environment(only slighly better mileage then some gas cars)+ you have to replace the battery.

Not all that reliable.. randomly dies..

And every poser holywood celebraty has one next to their suv to fake caring.

taygunho 12-08-2005 06:46 PM

It desrve cool for its technology but totally it is uncool.

chest3r 12-08-2005 06:56 PM

Uncool !!!

Of course it's a good step through the future but did it needed to be so ugly ??? I'm pretty sure if it would look much better it would sell much more

Seriously Uncool

its soooo uncool, that other uncool people make people i previously thought were cool want it.... that is seriously uncool..

(race driver/team owner.... actor... Paul Newman owns one) so does he think he is making the environment better with this piece of shit?

any car that shuts down unexpectedly, and wont start back up is uncool.... one that does that, and is driven by people who think their images makes a difference.... more uncool... touted as the future of cars, but utterly is less good then whats already been developed under old tech? even more uncool......

being the car that green groups wants to show off in front of people like me... Seriously uncool....

that combination makes this one very uncool car

dutchmasterflex 12-09-2005 12:57 AM

cool because of the technology... but one of the ugliest cars..

Caplax40 12-09-2005 01:10 AM

I have one of these as a company car, so I can speak from experience. It's uncool. It does drive nice, is comfortable, sips the gas, fairly zippy, and is quiet. But it's not much of a looker, which is pretty much all the "cool" factor is based on.

One thing I gotta say though, for a base price of $21,275 USD it's a hell of a bargain. Ours was $27k since it has the smart key, sat-nav, 6-disc changer, bluetooth phone and some other options and even that is a pretty good price.

My perception of the hybrid changed when I started driving this car. I think in America, the popularity of hybrids will grow and I can see this as being the way cars are built. In Europe, I think it's a hard sell. You guys already have plenty of fuel sipping cars but in America it's such a novelty.

MIHALS 12-09-2005 01:22 AM

come on guys, have you seen Honda Insight? basically the same technology, but THAT is an UGLY car...

I go for cool, for being little bit more effective for enviroment... when I was in London, I was surprised, how many of these Toyotas are there
