Wooden Supercar??? What??!!?
The Splinter
The world’s first wooden supercar has been unveiled and its creators claim it can outrun a Porsche or Lamborghini. The Splinter’s top speed of 240mph is partly due to its amazingly light body – a mere 1,134kg, about 240kg less than the super lightweight Porsche. http://www.motortrader.com/a/main/4A...873CFC6615.jpg Despite its power, the Splinter is relatively eco-friendly, doing up to 20mpg. The concept was created by Joe Harman, who built the car for a project at North Carolina State University. Harman summed up the project saying: “We aren't trying to sell anything; we aren't trying to save the world, and we aren't advocating that everyone should drive a wooden car. “This project is a scholastic endeavour in which are simply trying to explore materials, learn, teach, share ideas, and stimulate creativity.” http://www.motortrader.com/a/main/4A...873CFC6615.jpg http://www.joeharmondesign.com/index.html ~~~~~~~~~ WTF:ohmy: |
Burn it!
Does "wooden" steering come standard? Ha ha haw? ...sorry. That was lame. The name... is extremely poorly thought up. Splinter? I want to see someone crash this thing. Of course, that requires someone to actually build a working prototype. BURN!!! |
The Splinter’s top speed of 240mph,I dont think so.
