Recommended comic books

Maus: A survivor's tale http://jefferson.village.virginia.ed.../mauscover.gif
an excellent comic book, written by Art Spiegelman
and it tells how his father lived before, during and after WWII.
Excellent drawing story telling of Art's search of his parent's lives during the nazi years in Poland.

I didn't like the fact that Spiegelman had the jews as mice, the germans as cats and americans as dogs, just like tom&jerry. Why not other animals?

Read it by second time last night and it should be read by any person interest in the holocaust and/or history from a personal point of view

maybe in a couple of days I can borrow a digicam and upload the whole book

Do you have more comics books to search? which ones do you recommend?

I used to read asterix, but the books were too expensive here in mexico, and read my cousin's collection

with calvin & hobbes I'm saving a few bucks to order the complete collection that will come out in october. If I can't buy it... I have just downloaded a PDF file with 3965 strips

I love Asterix and Obelix ever since I was a kid. There was also a very popular "Donald Duck" series here in Poland. My fav currently is called Jez jerzy, it's a polish comic for older people about a hedgehog-skateboarder who loves to get drunk, etc.

The only thing I ever won was 5 comic books worth around 50USD togather. There is an annual voting for the best comics in my country, I took part in it and won this prize.

here's the link to amazon for

right now it costs $94.50 usd for a short time, and in a near future will be $150usd

with the pdf, it's a 187 MB monster and some strips are repeated and some more are scanned directly from a newspaper (so it has bad quality)
