Does anyone know any topspeed or acceleration data about the the Chevrolet Lumina SS? I know it has a 5.7l V8 engine with a 328 Bhp...

Its built on the same basis as the Australian Holden Monaro, but its on sale in the Middle East only.

OMG...Your talking about the Commodore SS and no its not the same chassis as the Monaro....Want to know specs go to www.holden.com.au and see the same specs from there..Instead of searching for lumina try search for Commodore instead.

Sachmo12345 01-19-2004 08:25 PM

why the hell would they only produce it in the middle east and not in their home country

stracing 01-20-2004 01:51 AM

it is produced in australia and then exported. well thats what i heard last. could be different now since i don't buy local magazines anymore. local crap is always about commodore vs falcon.

ahmedgiyab,
They are going to bring the new Lumina SS-400 coupe to Dubai soon.. Not sure of the price tag.. but it's going to be a good competetion for a lot of cars on the road.

The only thing that I think they should do to these cars is get it with manual transmission.. then it would a very very good car IMO..
A guy in Bharain swaped it's engine for an corvette engine and supercharged it.. it got about 500+HP .. He did the swaping in Dubai at Bin Selayem Motor's..

Probably because these cars are easier to get by emissions and safety-wise. Also, those Arabs love these cars and they have deep pockets, that's why they still build the Caprice, demand for them was always super high- it's their car of choice while criusing the Arab wastelands.

The Lumina and Caprice sold overseas shares nothing in common with the Lumina and Caprice that used to be sold in the US. They share nothing besides the names.

GM produces a lot of vehicles overseas that are never sold in America. Off-hand I can think of the Commodore, Barina, Astra, Zafira, Vectra, Cruze, Berlina, Calais, Ute, Adventura, Meriva, Corsa...
