How Can I become a Racer?

All right, just want to know how the heck do you become a Kart and F1 racer? Anyone know sites that talks about them and what steps you have to take? Right now I'm saving money which will be about $5000 in 3.5 months. I need to know, and want to drive these cars! It my dream and I'll do anything to achieve it, except for a Ferrari 355.

Well mate, i hate 2 tell u but ur gunna need in the region of $500,000 2 make it to cart or F1, my friends been racing for 4 years now, started when he wus 15.
2 make a start u can get ur ARDS licence (thats wat the racing license is here in england, not sure if its the same in america) but that alone is a couple a hundred quid.
Its a long long road, and unless ur pretty shit hot, u aint ever gunna get a free drive, u'll b paying 4 it the whole of ur life. If u really want 2 drive these cars, id reccomend going to various corperate track days, we have them in england at the bedford autodrome, where u can drive racing clios, mini jaguar gt cars, vx220 turbo, evo 6 etc.
Not sure about america mate, sorry but i hope this helped!!!

You can't really do it unless you start young nowadays. You have to start at the local cart level, then go to some feeder series like formula ford, and then onto some second tier thing like formula 3000 or something. To make it to F1 you must be unbelievably good, as well as most likely unbelievably wealthy.

not only young but you need very good social skills. you need to get around places and need to know the rich.

you could be the best driver but without corporate backup, you're going no where. even the worse drivers can be in f1 because they have financial backing ie *cough* firman *cough*

Hope you're not from a tiny country like Belgium or anything, because then you're not worth very much publicity-wise. You're gonna have to struggle even harder.
