It should come as little surprise that several of us here at Autoblog are motorcycle fans, and one can also find broad support for the axiom "there's no replacement for displacement" among staffers. We typically don't combine both of those into one project, though (the turbocharged Vmax project languishing in the polebarn for the last five years notwithstanding). Those wacky Germans over at HMS don't share our inhibitions, though, and managed to drop a 5.5L V12 from a BMW 750i into a custom drag bike. If that's not enough, plans are in the works to throw on a couple of turbos and a bit of laughing gas. We're damn near speechless, but we'd love to hear that V12 cut loose on a quarter-mile pass.

Who wants a SRT10 powered "Bike" when you can have BMW v12 in between your legs ;)

And this bike actually has 2 wheels, not the 4 that Dodge's Concept Viper Bike had..

I would LOVE to see this monster in action at the 1/4 strip..

I don't even know how to respond to what I am seeing.

How heavy is the engine? If it's like 150kilos, compared to say a 50kilo 1 liter engine on a highe end sports bike, you're essentially doubling the weight of the bike in question versus a good sports bike.

At 500hp or more, the hp per ton will still be very impressive, but then comes another problem, notably fuel consumption.

You can only put so much fuel into a bike fuel tank, and with this V12 definitely consuming 2 or 3 times as much fuel as a very fast bike with a ~1000cc engine (just at lower revs), you'll run out of fuel between gas stations...

I wonder why they bother... probably just for drag races *shrug*

Ha... thats like looking at a Ferrari F430 and saying, "I'd take a Hyundai Accent anyday."

I don't think your analogy apply here. This bike is clearly a dragster, GSX-R is a nice handling bike w/ very decent power.

 :o

I don't think they intend to use it for anything other than drag racing, there's no way that would make sense on real roads. I bet it sounds badass! 8)

Thanks for backing me up there!

LOL how can you compare a GSX-R with a Hyundai Accent. I like the idea of Ghostrider in a Hyundai Accent, or do you maybe don't know what Im on about? :P

It's not a comparison, it's a matter of choice...plus that is NOT a BMW bike. That is a 2 wheels + frame + BMW engine.
