Apple already released OS X that works with x86. I've been toying around with it a few months ago.

Actually years ago now. Ever since OS X 10.0 all of their OS were complied in both PPC and x86 platforms.

Nevermind it gets bundled with a free dev kit. Nevermind it has FrontRow. Nevermind it has an IR remote. Nevermind it has a magnetic powerplug that would help prevent your laptop from falling in case someone walks into the power cord. Nevermind it has back lit keyboards. Nevermind it has Bluetooth 2.0+

For the same MacBook Pro specs you can get a Gateway for $1454.99-1625. So feel free to save $400-600 on a great computer that still has the same problems as a computer as far back as 1995. It probably still has parallel & serial ports too and the ever essential PS/2. ;)

The whole points of Macs is the Operating System.

So if you dont like anything Apple can offer then go on to dell.com & buy the $499 laptop. It's big, heavy, smelly and a great bargain.
