Unbelievable

Some of the world's top rally drivers were caught by speed cameras around the site of the British leg of the world championship, a court has been told.

WTF? are you serious? are they gonna try and give them a ticket? LOL i cant believe that

Jabba 07-30-2003 09:55 AM

not only that...they may well loose their licenses..and therefore not be able to compete in any more rallying...thats why our country sucks so much....absolutely pathetic...banning some of the best drivers in the fucking world IMO for going a bit over 30 mph

novass 07-30-2003 10:03 AM

that is unbelievable! these arent average citizens, they are some of the best damn drivers in the world! i cant wait to see what happens

gis 07-30-2003 11:18 AM

only in the UK huh jabba

jon_s 07-30-2003 11:40 AM

I can believe that!

wizard 07-30-2003 12:31 PM

thats bad....its really bad for the uk. for the name and fame uk has about rallys

TT 07-30-2003 12:37 PM

Not Photoshop? :)

Jabba 07-30-2003 12:57 PM

its in all the national newspapers here....

TT 07-30-2003 01:04 PM

Uhm... but the pic showed is clearly fake..

Were they shooted prior to the rally while they were "testing" the roads? In that case, obviously, the rules say they have to repect road rules..
But the pic was taken during the rally itself ... and it's clearly Photshopped...

Jabba 07-30-2003 01:19 PM

yes I see what you mean...but the photo is from a national newspaper here:

Ok, I read, but you agree with me that the light is clearly fake, as the lens flare...

Jabba 07-30-2003 01:27 PM

completely...the whole thing looks wrong now I have looked at it properly...but I cant belive the paper could have been tricked like that...perhaps they created it...to "enhance" the story...

TT 07-30-2003 01:37 PM

Yeah, I got your point.. maybe it was just created to add something to their lines..

But the whole story seems so wrong.. it would be like putting speed traps during Monaco GP LOL!
The roads were closed for the rally, the Rally has all the needed permissions from the State and the Police...
So it sound so strange...

BTW, the last rally was held at the end of 2002, many months ago.. so why the news came out only now?

Jabba 07-30-2003 01:43 PM

speed cameras are a very hot subject in the UK right now...to the point where there are almost riots taking place...and lynching the govenment...we also have had a farmer put in prision for shooting a burglar....our whole "justice" system is way beyond a joke now...

I got caught the other day...doing 41 mph in a 30 mph zone heading onto a 70 mph carriage way (1 minute away)....a total "trap"

the police force responsible for the rally tickets hand out an average 4,200 speeding tickets per month against solving 6% of all burglaries....the only place soon that will not have any speeding cameras will be the pavement (sidewalk) soon....

they have only just taken the drivers to court now...thats why its making the papers now
