My license plate got one upped yesterday...
Dunno if you've seen my license plate in the "What do drive?" thread, but it says V8ORBST (V8 or Bust) My professed love for muscle cars and hatred of the V6 model mustangs.
So I'm driving near around where I live in Carlsbad, I heard a mid pitched rumble that's shaking my car. I hear to the right of me, but I don't see what's causing it at first, then I look slightly down. It's a first model Lamborghini Murcielago, the non-LP640 model, hunkered down real low. It was in the most pristine electric blue paint I have ever seen on a car. With custom black wheels that had the same blue paint on the offsets. The main point though, was the license plate, which was "V12ROR." Very fitting. I'm sure people behind me, "That guy driving the mustang got put in his place." The lambo sped off at the light change, I was waiting for the left lane. I could still hear it after it had gone over the hill. Thats one car I don't mind being one upped on. |
Haha. Nice quick post.
Good to see a sense of humility, appreciation and almost enjoyment at sitting alongside a Murci. I laughed about your plates. Nice post.:-) |
Oh. That's what it meant. Hehe.
|
i can just picture it...when you hear a lambo at full pelt its comparable to hearing a lion hold a long note...ure one lucky guy.
|
^Hmmm. Murcielago's engine note disappoints me, it yowls more than growl. Nothing beats a Diablo SV... I remember seeing my first Lamborghini on the street... Good times.
|
I've heard the LP640 engine note before at car shows, this was not typical Murcielago soundtrack. It was more race car like, very raw. I'm guessing some after market parts in there.

The Lambo V12 in full song, is one of the sweetest notes produced by a modern day production engine IMO. ;-)
|
^Agreed. It's not an engine I'd ever tinker with. I'd be too afraid of wrecking the sound. Same goes for almost all of the production supercar engines.

Saw a great plate on an Evo VIII "V8SH8ME"
