I've a question about the 993 GT2. If I'm well informed 57 GT2's were produced (Club Sport versions included). But also 25 GT2 Evolution models were built with some extra 20 bhp. My question: is there any visual difference between a regular or Club Sport GT2 and a GT2 Evolution?

As far as I know only 21 Evolutions were created....not 100% sure on that though.

They had an adjustable rear spoiler (with an elevated wing section) and fastening pins on the front lid/boot. They also featured an FIA roll cage, Recaro racing seat/six-point harness, and fire-extinguisher.

Again this info was probably found on the net at some stage so I can't confirm its accuracy. ;)

Do you perhaps have a pic of an evolution?

Thanks!

Hi everyone.
Does anyone know what type of rims are these? I couldn't find them on the TechArt site. THX.

BTW this car was wrecked a week ago. Why do unthoughtful people buy rare cars like this? :x

Rice & Co. is my guess
btw is it really that rare? or is it "just" a 911 turbo w/ bodykit?

DI48LO 09-30-2007 02:53 AM

It's a TechArt. I don't know much about Porsches, but I think a TechArt Turbo is quite rare.

How can Porsche's be so cheap, fast and reliable when compared to Lambo and Ferrari. They cost much more but not much lighter or faster (certainly they are more beautiful for me). I explain this with the volume of production that hence decreases tooling costs and R&D costs per car, but I suspect there exist some magic here :)

Consider the more simple engine than the other supercars, and the huge bank Porsche runs. They can sell them cheaper and more people buy them.

268 were produced, with roughly 1/4 of them being "S" models, mainly being less weight, and tighter suspension. Unfortunately, I think its hard to know how many are left, and/or were destroyed.

exact numbers, I was a bit mistaken

...in ´87 113 959´s where built and in ´88 again 179 and all in all PAG built 29 959 "S" - today one can buy a "as good as new" one with only some hundreds of km´s on the clock for ~350k €
A separate source suggested that there were 37 S models...

If you saw the interior you could probably tell, as the 'S' didn't feature air-con, central locking, electric windows or mirrors and had cloth-trim seats instead of the leather ones found in the normal 959  I also recall reading that the 'S' didn't have a passenger side mirror - so that would be an obvious way to tell
