PHOTO OF THE MONTH JULY SUBMISSIONS

before showing the pics, I'd like to remember you we changed the way to decide the winner since this month. Just testing if it will work out, but I am sure it will, and it's a better solution, even if some of the laziest ones will stop voting because it will take some more time.

Here is what to do:

You have to select your fav FOUR pics and assign points. The point system is as follows:

fav pic: 5 pts
second pic: 3 pts
third: 2 pts
fourth: 1 pt

Please, your fav pic on top, 4th one at the bottom of the short list.

Also, if you want, please, explain your choices :)

And may the best win :)

Extremelly hard this time, especially since there are two pics of the orange Zonda F.But my vote goes to MartijnGizmo, maybe the M3 isn't such a rare car, but that panning shot is perfect, plenty of focus on the car and a blured background. I like the fact that it's dynamic. Good job *thumbs up*

EDIT:

oh yeah, new rules :D

MartijnGizmo - 5
Smylait - 3
eurocopter - 2
stmoritzer - 1

TT 05-31-2006 06:04 PM

Actually you have to vote for your top 4, so much easier ;)

MartijnGizmo wins it for me.

I know i must have said how much i like his picture about a million times already, but it really is fabulous.

The car is average - an M3 really isn't a rare sighting anywhere.

The green vs blue looks fantastic, and the panning is supercrisp, especially after taking into account the slow shutter speed (which i assume helps to keep the colours vivid).

Others worthy of mention.

jon_s - a nice tyre smoking shot
Maou/Symylait - both of the orange Zonda look cool
Speedracer38 - just because of the rareness of the F50 and Enzo (plus the red and yellow look great together.)
80ssportlover - nice shot including the bridge. The yellow of the pontiac looks fantastic.
eurocopter - a menacing RS4 - looks fantastic

Congrats to everybody who made it into the poll - but hats off to Martijn 8)

{EDIT} Bollocks  just read the new rules.

1st - MartijnGizmo
2nd - jon_s
3rd - Speedracer38
4th - eurocopter

There we go!

Guys, guys, please, take the time to read and vote as asked :D or else it will be just a mess :D

sameerrao 05-31-2006 06:08 PM

#1 - Martin Gizmo - perfect blend of sharpness (of the car) and blur (of the wheels). Personally, I prefer moving cars to static cars - so additional brownie points for this pic. 5 POINTS

#2 - 80ssportlover - Fantastic alignment of car and bridge. Great color contrast between the car and bridge. Very well done. 3 POINTS

Now it gets tough the pick the rest

#3 - Sentra_dude - Rare sighting to see a Jet truck - the flames were perfectly captured. Great framing. Awesome. 2 POINTS

#4 - MIHALS - Beautiful Countach - framed very well; lots of room around the picture. Love the rain drops on the car. Excellent job. 1 POINT

About the rest:
In general great shots - v. tough to single out why these dont deserve to be in the Top 5.

Titan_boy - great picture, nice car.
Smylait - This would have been a certain Top 5 if it weren't for the framing - the car should have been a bit more centered. Great shot otherwise.
Salegosse -nice shot. But I am not a big fan of showroom kinda shots.
TT - perfect composition but somehow I think the exposure strikes me a little odd.

I'll stop here too many pics to comment about.

One thing is for sure, no shortage of Zonda F's in this month's competition.

My votes

Best - salegosse
Second - Speedracer38
Third - MartijnGizmo
Fourth - yacouba

TT 05-31-2006 06:20 PM

5 pt - salegosse - brillant colors. simple angle, but really nice result
3 pt - MartijnGizmo - no doubt a perfect pic that will end on the portal in a month. But when I have to choose, I turn toward static cars ;)
2 pt - eurocopter - magazine's stuff. Really nice composition
1 pt - Maou - dang, giving points to two Zonda F this week, but well, once again, simple angle, clear view, nice light thanks to shitty weather :good:

dingo 05-31-2006 06:58 PM

10pts - dingo, just perfect......lets hope TT is asleep as he reads this. :P
5pts - eurocopter, great car in a nice colour and perfectly placed IMO.
3pts - MartijnGizmo, not a huge fan of moving shots usually but this one is too good to not vote for.
2pts - salegoss, simple but vert effective!
1pt - MIHALS, brilliant setting for such an outrageous car.

jorge 05-31-2006 07:01 PM
