Perry McCarthy is the Stig.

If you want to read a biography of 'the world's unluckiest racing driver' or read an interview with him go to http://www.f1rejects.com/drivers/mcc...biography.html.

This site is great for any F1 fans.

Tifosi should check out http://www.f1rejects.com/centrale/ferrari/index.html to read 'Monza to Suzuka, the Ferrari saga 1979 - 2000'. This is a brilliant insight into Ferrari's wilderness years.

Perry McCarthy was the Stig, until he was "killed" in the aircraft carrier incident. He told in an interview (or in his book?) that he was The Stig and got fired instantly.

McCarthy = Black Stig
Collins = White Stig

Mmmm, seems I'm a bit behind the times, sorry.:crying:
:stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid::stupid:

Even though i now look like a complete idiot, that shouldn't stop you looking at www.f1rejects.com if you love F1 but are bored of the usual run of the mill F1 websites.:thumbup:

sirstig 07-09-2008 01:22 AM

I think I am.

But in the future after being knighted for bringing unbeatable driving skills and a wide variety of in-car entertainment to the world.:-D;-)

A lot of nice info here...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_stig

plus this was in the Norwegian news also "In a Winter Olympics special episode of Top Gear, The Stig was shown doing a ski jump using a snowmobile. According to the Swedish tabloid newspaper Aftonbladet, the driver performing the ski jump stunt was Dan Lang, a Swedish snowmobile cross driver."

Yeah. And when Renault F1 went around the track in 59 seconds, the driver was Kovalainen. This text was on The Stig's Wikipedia page some time ago:

"In one episode a Renault F1 car was driven around the test track by Heikki Kovalainen the then test driver and current racer for the team."

Kovalainen was second test driver for Renault when the episode aired. He has admitted in driving the F1 for TG.

I was told it was NOT Kovalainen, or any Renault test driver by a Renault F1 engineer a few months after the timed lap.

Malcom seemed to not have any hints that he was pulling my chain. ... somewhere here, there is a picture of me with him...
