Surprising to see Williams up that far, only really beaten by Mclaren in the second session. Hope they arent going to be running tyres that are too soft, or taking the engine too close to its limit.

i can hardly believe it! williams is finally back on top!
this is a GREAT year in F1.... the renaults are getting pushed back further and further as thier pace slows  another suprise? both ferraris in the top 10  as long as they dont fall too far back in traffic, im sure they are both in contention, but i really hope to see a BMW 1/2 this race |
I expect Kimi to dominate the race, as I am quite sure he will dictate the race from lap 1.
Unfortunately for Nick and MArk the BMW have problems starting. I expect Trulli to make the most of his position at the start. |
^^
Same, I also expect Kimi to win this easily, unless he gets stuck behind Heidlfeld. The Williams both did great laps, but like Trulli they seem to be on a lower fuel load, so I doubt they can challenge Kimi. Montoya, I think he has a good chance for second place. And the Renaults aren't impressive again - doubt they'll make to the Podium. Ferrari are a bit better now in Qualifying (Bridgestone brought a new tyre for this race), but they're still struggling. Both Rubens and Michael made small mistakes on their laps, but I'm positive that tomorrow they'll be strong. Should be an interesting race. :D |
Should be an interesting race, if everything goes smooth I believe that one of the Ferraris could take 3rd at least, but I really doubt it, Bridgestone has lots of work to do.
|
Kimi will win baring any mechanical mishaps and the ferrari will be near if not on the podium. IT'll be a great race. A close one.
BS will come good after about lap 10 or so and then in clean air, MS will do those blistering laps. Just pray he's not stuck behind traffic. As for me, I'm praying for a Mclaren 1-2 and the retirement of alonso. :d |
alonso got lucky
kimi's car was shaking like crazy.. maybe they should have pited... but oh well |

Good race, best so far? Lots of mid pack action, cars running tight.
I think Ferrari did great considering how much time they lost on the T1 accident. Looking forward to Canada, gotta pack my bags for the trip to Montreal :D |
Awesome race, the start was a little bit scary... Ralf fu**ing Alonso again... Heidfield made a very nice race, second making 3 pit stops, like Barrichelo ... Bad luck for Kimmi, he made 3 or 4 tire block that made him have that inlucky accident... Very lucky Sato, Kimmi almost hit him !!! Very near, WOW !!! And A little lucky Alonso that didnt "eat" broken parts of Kimmi's mp4-20... AWESOME RACE !! Now Alonso has 28 points over the second !!!

I'll say it again: this stupid tyres rules fucking disgust me. :x
So much for "improving safety"... Now, on the last laps or either the tyres blow or get worn down the the carcass... Something really bad could have happened to Kimi today (and the B.A.R. who was in front of him)... Tough it was his fault too - many lock-ups and off track excursions. Michelin seem to be pushing the boundaries with their uber soft tyres too. Anyway, the race was quite good. Alonso was one lucky mofo once again, and Heidfeld drove a good race, but today the Wiliams weren't quite there. Coulthard was fantastic too! And Ferrari... Well, yet again the luck wasn't with them. Tough a podium is a positive result; and Michael did well too, coming from 17th to 5th. But the car didn't seem to like the 2 stopper strategy, and Michael's tyres suffered from that. Rubens (who was great today), clearly had a more consistent package and his tyres held up better. Oh well, can't wait for one of my favourite GP's! :D =============================================== FASTEST LAPS CHART: Pos Driver Team Lap Average Speed Time 1 Fernando Alonso Renault 44 204.305 1:30.711 2 Kimi Räikkönen McLaren-Mercedes 9 203.791 1:30.940 3 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 44 203.594 1:31.028 4 Nick Heidfeld Williams-BMW 9 203.380 1:31.124 5 David Coulthard Red Bull Racing 19 202.974 1:31.306 6 Michael Schumacher Ferrari 19 202.537 1:31.503 7 Giancarlo Fisichella Renault 47 202.084 1:31.708 8 Ralf Schumacher Toyota 25 202.049 1:31.724 9 Jarno Trulli Toyota 43 201.928 1:31.779 10 Juan Pablo Montoya McLaren-Mercedes 42 201.866 1:31.807 11 Takuma Sato BAR-Honda 26 201.686 1:31.889 12 Jenson Button BAR-Honda 20 201.542 1:31.955 13 Vitantonio Liuzzi Red Bull Racing 43 201.506 1:31.971 14 Felipe Massa Sauber-Petronas 18 200.725 1:32.329 15 Jacques Villeneuve Sauber-Petronas 41 200.174 1:32.583 16 Narain Karthikeyan Jordan-Toyota 21 198.653 1:33.292 17 Tiago Monteiro Jordan-Toyota 39 198.370 1:33.425 18 Christijan Albers Minardi-Cosworth 18 194.985 1:35.047 19 Patrick Friesacher Minardi-Cosworth 18 193.987 1:35.536 |
That was a interesting race, I didnt think Ferrari had a chance to come third, but they did, amazing stuff. Glad to see kimi got out of that accident alright, lucky those tethers are mandatory, otherwise he could of had a similar result to Senna's accident. Alonso is one lucky bastard!!
