My car is undergoing a transformation! new pics 6/11/07

Well, a few on here know about it, but I thought it is about time I properly publish it!

I am effectively re-building my mk4 Ford Fiesta! Yes yes, I know I will get the 'why don't you just buy another car'. Well, that is boring and I love fiddling around with cars - so this is my project.

A full build diary to date can be found here:

To give you an idea of where my car is at:

The car currently only has a few base coats on. They will be rubbed back before the final 'gloss' coats are out on followed by some nice lacquer.

Can't wait to get it back!

oh i didnt see "next page" on the bottom  :D

jon_s 03-16-2007 05:18 PM

We are trying to code page numbers - it is proving a pain in the arse!!!

OOh, I know it is probably obvious, but in the diary, if you click on the pics you get big versions! 8)

TopGearNL 03-16-2007 05:41 PM

Wow Jon, you really know how to take a project seriously!

Can't wait to see the finished project! :D

ARMAN 03-16-2007 05:48 PM

damn seeing new set of tires makes me want ones too :( i see you did hell lot of work on your car  is there a part of your car you didnt held in your hands mounted out? :D
speedlines are nice wheels, any plans to paint them in different color? titan-like or white perhaps? :D)

jon_s 03-16-2007 06:26 PM

At the moment I have no plans to paint them - There are other things that are taking priority at the moment.

You never know - if I get bored of them.....

Don't think I quite understood your sentence - but, no there will not be one single part of my car that I have not altered/planned out in some way

ARMAN 03-16-2007 06:33 PM

you understood it right
titan or even black color and red or white "speedline" on them might look good

jon_s 03-16-2007 06:44 PM

If we have another NS meet next year - I will bring the car along - with it's new engine  And yes, it will get driven around!

As for wheels colors, they would either go titanium or black. If I eventually turn the car into a track day only thing, I may go 'motorsport white'.

Oooh, remember to leave comments if you have something to say on a particular post. We are sorting out a 'subscription' to the diary; you will then get an email informing you that I have posted something up which means you won't miss a beat 8)

gis 03-16-2007 08:02 PM

have you decided more on the engine side of things jon? or still in between with the FRS and S3?

That sounds very promising! Where do prices for a passenger ride start?

jon_s 03-17-2007 04:34 AM

Danny, I am thinking of going down the S3 route at the moment - there is also a possibility of making a 1.7 Turbo from the puma lump (could be very spendy though!)

Once I have recovered from the cost of this re-spray, I will be saving as much as possible until the engine is in.

TopGear - no charge mate - just one hell of a fun ride!
