I'm sure that I was looking at an Enzo wreckage on the news this morning. The driver apparently lost control of it and crashed it. His condition is unknown. I'll update the report later.

The driver only suffers minor injury due to the airbag.

Ouch! The ending wasn't as bad as I feared when I saw the pics though. The back of the car and engine are ripped clean off. A Porsche CGT with more or less the same damage in the Netherlands recently killed one or both occupants (can't remember exactly). Shame about the car!

The woman who drove it, drove it for a test drive someone offered her. She was severely injured. The passenger only suffered minor injuries.

so... 'may have been' ??? such published speculation ought to wait til the investigation is complete.... just because it can doesnt mean it did.

thankfully the driver is fine... the CF tub remained quite intact this time... which is definately good for the driver

Too bad for the car, but i'm glad the driver was alright - i would probably not bother to ring up my insurance company, as your premium is very likely to go through the roof!

I reckon this is a feature built into all of the mid-engined CF-tub cars - ensuring the passenger cell remains intact whilst ditching the (potentially explosive) engine/fuel area :bah:

Could well be. It would also absorb energy from the crash, like with F1 cars.

i have a feeling that its not that the rear detaches, as much as it absorbs a lot of kinetic energy as it shatters (mabey like an F1's nose/side pods)

seems the wheels arent stock, they look like chromed ones. specially in the last pic
