*** IMPORTANT *** POSSIBLE NAME CHANGE FOR JABBASWORLD
 

I feel that we have out grown what was a very quickly thought of name that seemed quite amusing at the time.

I had no idea that we would last more than a few weeks...and of course here we are over a year later with over 18,000 registered members.

"Jabbasworld" is also very tricky to explain to a non internet type of person...for example telling someone in a Ferrari dealership the other day.....was a bit.... shall we say...."complicated".

It is also very difficult to launch the web shop due to copyright issues with the "Jabba" name....so when considering an alternate name...think of wearing it on a T-Shirt for example....

Thinking of a good name is one thing, thinking of a good name that has not been registered yet is another.

Here are my two suggestions :

www.thecarzoo.net

I would be much happier wearing a cap or having a sticker on the lambo with www.thecarzoo.net on it rather than www.jabbasworld.net on it...but then thats just me.

i like jabbasworld but its an odd explanation always follows. soo a change would be good but i am not sure about car zoo. i will think before i vote

Well I don't mind explaining the name to others the best of my abilities, i can see the problems the name causes you and others, but for me it just wouldn't feel right under another name :|

Its maybe just a case of getting used to something new.

Stick it to JW , i prefer the way its been done , plus the other names does not sound very good :(

Somehow I knew you were going to be akward.

I knew this idea was going to be about as popular as a rattle snake in a lucky dip.

hmmmm i don't know really, I kind of think it does make the site stand out more from the other car sites on the net... usually involiving the word fast or racing :P Like in real life the name makes you or something an individual. But hey i'm only one member of the community and if others have a different view i'll be happy to visit still whatever the name...... so long as you make sure jabbasworld.net redirects to the new name LOL I know i'll forget for ages :lol:

Yep that is an extremely good pont about the name...its very unique.

I hate all the other clone car sites...that all have similar names that lack "personality"

I thought of patosworld.net , but we would have to increase the capacity of the server .... hahaa

So for me JW is the best name , if you change it i guess some of the magic of the site would be gone , think of it as you pub where all your friends come to share with you , and other leechs come to ask you for free beers

I know I haven't posted much so my opinion probably means jack to you guys, but I've been around for a while and has sort of gotten use to the name and would feel sry if it changed... well considering the alternatives anyway :D but couldn't you like arrange a thread with name suggestions and have a vote over them, so it's like a mutual decision.

Jabba can just edit the poll at the top of this thread to include new suggestions... Out of interest Jabba would you chnage your name from Jabba too???
