Actutally Top Gear got a pre production car and the wing was always intended for the Egg. Don't always believe what Jezza says.

They actually made a lot of changes, actually. ;-)

The car's longer, the rear end's been reshaped. The headlights are new. And it's taller, to accommodate a wider range of people.
