Scuderia Spider

any pics? people have started placing their orders

I can't see this one happening. It ruins the point of track versions of Ferraris.

Just like the 360CS and 355 challenge.

pitfield 09-21-2008 07:25 AM

exactly, hardcore versions of cars with no roof are a bit pointless because the bodies are usually so much heavier and more flexible (unless they are carbon fibre).

Although there's a minimal weight gain in the F430 Spider over the Berlinetta.

HeilSvenska 09-21-2008 11:05 AM

Even with carbon fiber, flexing is greater because there's a significanly loss in structural rigidity since all convertibles are just big tubs.

For that reason alone, I can't imagine Ferrari making a Scuderia Spider. Then again, they are Ferrari and they're so good at whoring themselves with unnecessary merchandise. Or maybe the standard F430 is that good.

I know that one custom Scuderia-fied Spider was made, but as you can see, it's cosmetic only.
It's still got a full leather interior and carpets. And those rear wheel brake discs look tiny (comparatively).

The name "plate" over the license plate is taped on. Lol.

The f430 spider is almost as good as the coupe.

Apparently leaked from a Ferrari event.

Quote:

Production of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider will be limited to around 300 units. It will follow in the vein of its coupe sibling with a superlight structure, but an additional 70kg is likely to be added to the model's 1250kg kerb weight due to the retractable hard top roof.

The 510hp 4.3-liter V8 power unit will stay unchanged, therefore we would expect Ferrari to maintain its acceleration and top speed performance figures with the introduction of the new 7-speed dual clutch transmission system which will debut in the brand new Ferrari California.
It makes me sick.

Chaos in 1983! 09-22-2008 01:47 PM

It is official, it is all over ferrarichat.com, apparently some people are already placing orders. I believe it is really stupid, it has no logic and defies all purpose of a track car like the Scuderia...

This is the video. 33 seconds in.

Nice. I like the carbon fibre bits. They add some oomph to the car.

enzoferrari 11-10-2008 12:59 AM

I love it!!

5vz-fe 11-10-2008 01:56 AM

They should have done it to their hardtop, not convertible

styla21 11-10-2008 07:36 AM

I love it! Don't know if it would be my pick of Ferrari's, but its great!

pitfield 11-10-2008 12:49 PM
