The show go's out this sunday, looks like it went quite well.
Not my words below:

Yesterday the C6 was in the studio for recording the show and "The Stig" drove a fast lap. The Corvette set a good lap time, even beating the Lotus Exige, which had been specially set-up for the track.

1. Mercedes McLaren SLR - 1.20.9
2. Ford GT - 1.21.9
3. Ferrari 360 CS - 1.22.3
3. Porsche GT3 RS - 1.22.3
5. Murcielago - 1.23.7
6. Zonda - 1.23.8
7. Koenigsegg - 1.23.9
8. Noble - 1.25.0
9. Gallardo - 1.25.8
10. Corvette C6 - 1.26
11. Lotus Exige - 1.26.4
12. Porsche 911 GT3 - 1.27.2

Richard Hammond the presenter was generally very positive about the car. He liked the performance and styling enormously. The engine and handling got a lot of praise and the head-up-display is now one his favourite features. Of course they also had some criticism, like the interior build quality.

The bastards... :D

What will it take to get em to have The Stig throw an "old" Z06 around so we can lay to rest how good we had it from 2001 through 2004... :)

I bet the Lotus guys are creaming their pants about know... ;)

can't wait for the z06. I wonder if it will be as huge of a leap as the C5 Z06 was over the C5 coupe/vert.

For the stock C6 to do better than the GT3 is very impressive, especially for the difference in price. I can't wait for the new Z06 to come out and get out there with the Stig. Should see some awesome results.

If it is as big of a leap forward, then the new C6 Z06 will be the one for the $Million Dollar$ cars to beat...

Again... ;)

yeah, that is impressive...but my family has owned several GM cars..and we have owned 2 porsches..

We will never buy another GM again because the build quality is terrible..I love the way Chevys drive and look but they arent made nearly as well as they were before the strike in 1994..

Our Porsches have been great...never had any problems with them and I really think even though they are much more expensive..you get what you pay for..

that is very impressive but not to sway the topic why the hell isn't the time's list up to date? they are missing the CGT...
I still can't wait for the C6 review it will be great to see these guys have to admit that the Americans are getting back in the game finally.
Sadly we won't see the Z06 I'm guessing unless GM is going to start selling them officialy over there.

That's very impressive indeed. I'm kinda surprised that TG had access to a new 'vette.
Isn't there a rumored "blue devil" in the works with a 7 liter 700 HP engine?

BADMIHAI 07-30-2004 06:13 PM

The Porsche GT3's lap was in the wet.

It is also their limited-edition, hand-made, premiere, no-holds-barred, no-expense-sparred, trimmed-down, light-weight, racer-wannabe uber-sportscar...

Unlike the piece of GM crap - which is their generic, mass-produced, plastic-lined, cheap-ass, entry-level lump of pig-iron.,. :P

Now which car seems to have done it's makers proud...???? ;)

thats hilarious

I want to see video of this test however its seems wierd for an overseas magazine to get a full track test before American one, the C6 being an American car :?

Not really when you think about it. The C6 would still sell here if it was the slowest piece of shit ever. It's a Corvette, people will buy it.
Whereas in Europe, they won't go out and buy it just because it's a Corvette. I call it an attempt to increase sales in Europe.
