Gallardo Roadster Topic / Concept S

Feb 2005 update:

At the Geneva Motor Show, the House of the Raging Bull will present a new design study that renews a great Lamborghini tradition.
Like the 350 GTS and the Miura Roadster before it, the Lamborghini “Concept S” is a unique car, an extreme and spectacular _expression of the Lamborghini brand.
Created at the Centro Stile Lamborghini in Sant’Agata Bolognese by Luc Donckerwolke, Head of Lamborghini Design, the “Concept S” is his extreme interpretation of an "open car“. Using the Gallardo as a basis, Donckerwolke drew inspiration from the classic single-seater racing cars of the past to create this latest design study.
The classic single-seaters did not have a traditional windscreen, but utilised the so-called "saute-vent“ (in French: a sudden change in the wind) in order to direct air over the head of the driver - and so does the “Concept S”. These devices divide the cabin into two distinct compartments, giving the car an aggressive and futuristic look and also creating a space between them that acts as an additional air inlet for the powerful engine, which is positioned behind the seats.

An electronically controlled, retractable central rear view mirror allows the driver - when required - to see what is happening behind the car.
The aerodynamics of the “Concept S” have been optimised thanks to front and rear spoilers and a large rear diffuser.

The automark in the indication of the bull presents a new Design study on the autosalon in Geneva. The Lamborghini "Concept S" is to continue the tradition of the singular and extreme roadster from Sant'Agata Bolognese. The Concept Car is based on the aggressive and strong Gallardo. ( )

Already in the 60's the Italian mark built roadster, which polarized. 1965 for example the 350 GTS in the public of exciting discussions ensured. It was not only a Miura, whose roof was removed. Additionally still some details were changed. The rear louvers were removed and the angles of the wind catch changed around turbulences at speeds of up to 300 Km/h to eliminate.

Although the 350 GTS only in the prototype stage remained and roadster was sold to the only Miura to the US company ILZRO, both classical authors offer the Design collecting main for the new Lamborghini

With the two a cell seats from each other defined, the study resembles more seater a classical "single". The air, which is led between the two windshields to the tail, serves for the cooling of the strong engine. For sporty aerodynamics punched spoilers were installed in front and in the back.
In addition, large air intakes in the front spoiler lend a grimmigen face expression to the "Concept S", serve for the cooling of the brakes. An electronically retractable outside mirror provides for sufficiently view to the rear.
Over the exact HP number, likewise whether the Concept Car goes at all into series, it is silent itself Lamborghini still out. But one can say one with security, which becomes "Concept S" like its predecessors, who tighten attention of the public in Geneva almost magically.
