Opera SL vs. SLR

SLR (626hp) from 0 to (100 in 3.8sec, 200 in 10.6, 300 in 28.8)

Opera SL (718hp) from 0 to (100 in 3.9, 200 in 11.2, 300 in 23.9!!!)

Its true that the SLR has less HP by 92, but its lighter than the Opera by almost 500kgs...

They say that the topspeed of the Opera is 340+km/h...so its faster than the SLR in a straight line!!!

Very Surprising!

Any opinions? (I would choose the SLR  )

SPEEDKILLAR 02-24-2004 06:48 PM

I would go for the Opera sl, just because I think it will still handle better than the
slr(damn brakes and plasticy interior)and its a car to shock slr owners and other
supercars

Do you have pics of it or any other stuff?

I never heard of the car maybe it has a better aerodynamic body or whatever but I would also choose the SLR.

SPEEDKILLAR 02-24-2004 06:56 PM

No, I sure wouldn't

The Opera is more an "underdog"and less shocking

so Opera it is

I didn't know this one
good job

ahmedgiyab 02-24-2004 07:21 PM

This car has a 5.9 or 6.0(???) V12 engine, with two turbos...producing 718HP...

The torque is AMAZING 1120 Nm!!!!!!!!! I think only the Veyron has more!!!

SPEEDKILLAR 02-24-2004 07:30 PM

Wow how can the clutch handle such punishment
Truly amazing

dylan99 02-24-2004 08:36 PM

It's a Mercedes SL!!!!! I just saw the car but I still would have the SLR. No question about it. I don't like tuned cars because you especially with the Opera they have changed the lokks of the car.

he7lius 02-24-2004 08:44 PM

Sorry don't liky modified cars

callen 02-24-2004 09:32 PM

SLR hands down of course as everso said this isnt a comparison. who compares a twin turbo tuner SL with THE SLR mclaren!?!? sometimes i wonder about some of u guys on here!

BADMIHAI 02-24-2004 09:56 PM

I would have the SLR in a second. Jus think how sophisticated this car is! It has carbon fibre, and so much F1 technology incprporated into it. That, plus the looks and sound are just ......(speechless).....
I just saw the SLR Saturday at the Canadian Auto Show, and it's VERY, VERY beautiful!

SPEEDKILLAR 02-24-2004 10:00 PM

I'm choosing the opera just because Its something different, like most of you guys would choose the slr wich I can understand, but not all people are the same.
Catch my drift.

And I'm still convinced the Opera would handle better on a track than the slr.

Why the SLR doesn't have a kopressor?

I think both of the cars are very exclusive...you don't see more Opera SL than SLR on the roads...are you?

ya you are right, I even think that the Opera is even more exclusive than the slr
(maybe nobody wants one, except me)
