They might we have to remember these are the same people that forced Jefferson to start the Navy and the Marines.
Some things never change. |
|
Other navies have been kicking their butt for a while now too....doesn't seem to stop them at all

you know it would be horrible to think what if these bastards try to take a US NAVY frigate ir something? (notice I said try, I dont think they'd be able to) but the subsequent shots to the head or hangings, may just put the whole socialist euros and rainbow gay leftists in USA up in arms about extreme justice... oh my, i HOPE THEY ARE NOT THAT STUPID and just stop pirating, then again, these are somalis, the same idiots who rather get themselves bombed to smithereens rather than let UN food aid get to their people
|
The pirate organisations are using gangs of kids to do the dirty work: http://www.smh.com.au/world/somali-p...2.html?page=-1. This is ridiculous. The actual organisations need to be actively investigated and taken down.

Yes, it's probably a cooperative, rather than corporation.

3 more ships,MOMBASA, Kenya – Undeterred by U.S. and French hostage rescues that killed seven bandits, Somali pirates brazenly hijacked three more ships in the Gulf of Aden, the key waterway that's become the focal point of the world's fight against piracy.

It's not a matter of the UN having the stomach, it is a matter of the UN having the capability. Anything the UN wants to do is dependent on individual countries acting.

^Actually, most peacekeepers are from third world countries or former colonies because going off to Africa with a whole bunch of white people with guns might drive the locals crazy. Well, that is the rationale in any case.
But that's beside the point. The UN is structurally unsound and impotent as it has zero power. In answer to the original question, no, the pirates won't back down. In fact, I reckon they'll step it up and start killing people, something they have managed to refrain from doing. |

Ahh a political post. Though we were not suppose to do that anymore. What with BMWM5 gone and all.
Ok the pirates havent killed anybody yet. But we killed three. (I'm hearing they were teenagers) Now they are saying revenge and have captured five more ships. And for the first time could start killing prisoners if they wanted. Obama gave the order, and now all my peacenik antiwar friends are praising his leadership. So my question. If Bush had given the order, would there be more stories and outrage about how the US murdered poor black teenagers, rather than seeking a more peaceful outcome? BTW Seals kick ass. |
^Pirates are pirates.
But yes. You are quite right. |

That could be the right to do |
The news just seems to be full of Somali pirate sabre rattling.
What with the tea parties today and the govenor of Texas suggesting Texas scede from the Union, Obama will be forced to kick some more pirate ass, if they capture another American. Obama can lay waste to Somali and no one can ever accuse him of being racist. He has a free hand. I doubt his loyal supporters would flinch a bit. |
