What a loser.

I thought the "attraction" of exotic cars was their "character".

He is just pissed because he couldn't flip the car and make a couple million.

It is unclear if he is the first owner, and if the ar was still under warranty - if not, then why is he being such a retard and sueing them? Just pay to get it fixed and move on.

about the owner and his useless mercedes

1. This story is two years old.

2. Mercedes did not make a U.S. variant.

3. The car was imported and converted to meet U.S. regulations. The "dealer" in this story is NOT a MB dealer. He is part owner of an used exotic car store in Mariana Del Rey, California.

4. It is a "gray market" car.

5. Because it is not a U.S. spec car and not brought into the country through Mercedes Benz USA, IT DOES NOT HAVE A WARRANTY. Besides, IT WAS MODIFIED BY A THIRD PARTY TO MEET U.S.REGULATIONS.

6. DB attempted a good-will repair, more than once, trying to do the owner a FAVOR.

7. DB never imported the car to the U.S.A., it's not a U.S. model, it's been converted (fucked up) by a third party and DB is under NO obligation to fix a damn thing.

8. I hope the owner knows of a good, independent repair shop specializing in CLK-GTRs because Mercedes doesn't have to touch it, even if he pays. He needs to piss-off Mercedes even more.

Here's what Merceds said after the lawsuit was filed:

“The customer bought the vehicle directly from Germany. He imported it himself. It’s not certified for sale here. It’s a race car, period,” Mercedes spokeswoman Donna Boland said. “We don’t import it and we don’t have the ability or the parts or the training to service it.”

I thought I'd heard this one before, I'm sure you are right about the warranty, even if it had had one in the first place it surely would no longer be valid, I know that U.S. warranties are massively long but in the U.K they last for 3 years/60,000 miles unless you have a Hyundai.

I think the guy needs to face up to the fact that he bought a duff car.

Mercedes-Benz USA only warrants cars imported by them. There is no world-wide warranty that's valid in the U.S.A. The fact is Mercedes-Benz USA never imported the car or issued a warranty for it, and the car wasn't designed for or exported to the US by Daimler Benz (Daimler Chrysler).

I've noticed that the warranties here in the States are incredible. Very different from Europe.

Daimler Benz bought Chrysler a few years ago and sold it recently. It was known as Daimler Chrysler.

Which they admit is one of their biggest mistakes.

Ok,but when you said that they bought Chrysler u mean the whole company, DODGE,JEEP,Chysler,and why some ppl are saying that mercs are currently being made here in the states(i dont belive it)so did MB bought the whole thing and then sell it to?
