Anyone know a where I can get a video feed online? As much as I enjoy Radio Le Mans, it's still not the same without seeing what's happening.
|
Time to readjust my cable tv premium stations. Thanks for the reminder. Cinemax porn off, NASCAR Speedchannel on.
|
I just don't get why the LMP2 Penseke Porsche RS Spyders still aren't entering this event. I'm sure they would do well. They did at Sebring.

Will watch for sure!
I have primarily been a Formula 1 fan but after watching last years Le Mans race and following the build-up to this years race I can honestly say I am looking forward to it. Jacques was my favorite in F1 way back when so I was disappointed to see his hopes for winning dashed last year. Is the Peugeot still as competitive? I don't follow the rest of the series.
|
^Hard to say. Audi and Peugeot have been racing each other in LMS for just few races, and they're pretty much neck and neck (in overall points). So yeah, Le Mans this year should be very competitive.
*News brief. Racing Box (ITA) withdraws and Epsilon Euskadi (ESP) enters a second LMP1 car in its place. http://www.instablogsimages.com/imag...LwFEz_7071.jpg |
|
^Very nice. <3 Radio Le Mans:thumbup:
Only if I can find somewhere to watch the entire 24 hour coverage... |
Is there a live feed we can watch?
|
Strange that Speed TV in the U.S. is broadcasting it (has for years) but places in Europe, etc don't. I thought Eurosport and ITV showed it.
|
Stephane Sarrazin broke La Sarthe's lap record during qualifying today with the time of 3:18.513. Funnily enough, all the top diesel LMP1 cars broke the previous record during qualifying today. The lap record was set just last year by Sebastien Bourdais with 3:26.707.

^How does one do that?

Starting Grid is in. Peugeot 1-2-3.
http://www.lemans.org/24heuresdumans/chronos/pdf/essais2/practice%202_24h.pdf Summary. Peugeot 1-2-3, Audi 4-5,7 Charouz Lola-Aston Martin is 6th, which is very commendable for a brand new prototype. And also, never-raced Dome-Judd S102 is at 8th place. Van Merksteijn Motorsport's Porsche RS Spyder leads the LMP2 class at 14th overall. And the Radical-AER prototype's doing horribly as usual. From 14th place to 31st, it's a mash of random LMP1 and LMP2 cars. #63 Corvette is the fastest GT1 car. (Wooooooh, go Ron Fellows!!!) And surprisingly, second fastest GT1 car is the Larbre Saleen S7R. The third car is the #64 Corvette, and the 009 and 007 Gulf-liveried Aston Martins start behind it. I wish the 007 car could win Le Mans, but 009's always driven by more experienced drivers, so oh well. IMSA/Matmut Porsche's the number one GT2 car. Top Ferrari starts two places behind it. It doesn't look very good for Mika Salo in the #62 F430. They are having a bad year so far. Some interesting things. It seems like closed cockpit prototypes have an advantage. (dur) There's going to be an Ickx on La Sarthe again, with Jackie's daughter, Vanina. It's not her first time doing this, so she'll be fine. Poor Spyker's wallowing in bottom 4. But if they finish, it'll still be something to be happy about. Judd's supplying engines to so many race teams, so good that they're thinking of putting one in a road car. The worst performing prototype, let alone an LMP1 car, is at 41st place. And it's entered by Tokai University. A University! Why? I mean it's cool and all, but that's a serious waste of money. They're running a proven chassis Courage-Oreca, paired with engine from a company no one's ever heard of, YGK. So yeah... Good luck to them. |

Speedchannel is showing the race starting at 7:30 tonight. Its 11:30 in the morning right now. Race starts at as I remember 4:00 pm Le Mans time. Which would be about 8:00 am here. So I guess its not live on the Speed Channel, so I better not read anymore here.

I might have a setup with that vid, the raw sound from the first feed, then the commentary from Radio Le Mans. 3 fold madness. *There's a 20-30% chance of rain at Mans. So we'll see how that turns out. |
Maby the will beat the distance record as set by gijs van lennep in 1971 whit a porsche 917

Crap. Audi 1st. Wanted Peugeot to win
|
sorry didnt see it on page 1
suprised audi pulled it off again the peuoget looks as weather may have caused some issues with setup or maybe others,rs spyder wasnt a suprise ,bummed vettes didnt pull it off probly my fav race car ever and one of the biggest suprises to me was the rsr no podium you can count on porsche protesting the ferrari. too bad spyker didnt finish hope they return |
Well I am watching the recorded Speed Channel coverage. As usual they follow the two leading cars around the track and show really nothing else. Havent even seen a Porsche GT3. Only knew there was a Saleen racing because I saw it in the standings.
Somewhat good coverage of Risi Competizione who is located right here in Houston. One thing I will say: probably a good year to watch it on Television because of the rain. But maybe not. It wasnt 5 and 6 deep at the fences, and sometimes the heat can beat you down after 6 or 7 hours. I guess you would need a really good rain suit to really enjoy it comfortably. |
It was a good race because there were massive competition in all the classes. There was an Audi vs. Peugeot race, which ran right to the end. The same story with the Astons and the Corvettes. There was a Ferrari Porsche battle which gave out to Ferrari's advantage and all the Porsches just died.
Audi. Yes. Vorsprung durch Technik indeed. But Peugeot was so close to winning. If they can iron out those kinks... We'll see next year. But for now, Allan McNish on his second Le Mans win. Massive 8 wins for Kristensen and Audi. 3 for Dindo Capello. Poor Capello. I totally ignored him once to talk to McNish. Only pictures of him I have are of him giving me funny looks. Anyways. Go McNish! They should also worry about the Charouz Lola-Aston Martin. That car, despite the initial off that ruined it chances, was fast. Climbing back into top ten in the end. If ACO tries to even out the performance gap between the diesels and petrols more, it might have a chance at the podium. Dome S102 was quick too, but as it is a brand new prototype, techinical problems were expected, as with the Euskadi Epsilons. RS Spyders... They're so much faster than the field. Zyteks and such. Oh well. I kinda wanted Team Essex to win. (strange team name) Aston Martin vs. Corvette. Corvette Racing's my default favorite, but I'm glad Aston Martin won. Both teams put on quite a show, and both are equally deserving. #009 and #63 were just perfect. Although a part of me is sad that Ron Fellows didn't win, I'm happy Aston Martin was able to win Gulf a racing victory (the only one that counts) for its 40th anniversary. All they have to do is return and do the same thing next year for 50th anniversary of Aston Martin's first Le Mans victory. ;-) I'm also happy for Mika Salo and Jaime Melo. They've been having a sucky year, but at least they'll be enormously happy with the big Le Mans trophy in the cabinet, which, let's be honest, probably is more important to them than anything else. Flying Lizards, tough luck. And to all the Porsches. Ferrari domination, is it a sign of things to come? I've never seen such competition. Top LMP2 car and GT1 cars were within 30 seconds of each other for so long... |
