Top Gear - S10 EP3 - 28th october, 2007 - Discussion

Quote:

Top Gear isn't on this Sunday, as we've kindly given up our time slot so you can watch the snooker. But don't fret - full service will resume next week.

Then you'll be able to see Jeremy taking commuting to bold new heights as he drives the world's smallest car to the Top Gear office.

Plus, James will be climbing aboard the new Rolls-Royce and probably having a thoroughly nice time. And the new Ferrari will be getting a comprehensive thrashing on the test track.
I'm guessing it's the 599 GTB

chest3r 10-15-2007 07:39 PM

Finally the almighty 599 GTB :multi: too bad we have to wait two more weeks :?

yg60m 10-16-2007 01:31 AM

As usually, thanks for the info vexor :D

Sounds great! Looking forward to next week :D

A bit more info on the episode

Quote:

In this week's show, Jeremy drives the smallest car ever made, Richard races a Bugatti Veyron against the RAF's Typhoon jet fighter and the Ferrari 599 rips up the Top Gear track. Plus, a car that can park itself, a sinister new Lamborghini in the studio, and Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood is the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car.

blue8 10-19-2007 09:23 PM

Wow, a lot of features in the next episode! I just hope they provided a significant amount of time for the 599 because that test is long overdue. I'm curious about the
'sinister new Lamborghini.' Is it the Reventón? Do they have the resources to have the Reventón there?

saadie 10-20-2007 02:22 PM

i loved the porsche pipes in the last episode  ...
this one will deffinetly be a keeper :P

nejcdolinsek 10-27-2007 08:49 AM

Oh my, I can't wait for tomorrow :D :D

This will def be one of the best episodes in a long while :)

You might have heard about this one on the news - Richard races a Veyron against a Eurofighter. But, trust us, you don't have any idea yet just how awesome this film is...

martin100 10-27-2007 12:56 PM

Final preview from the TG site:

Quote:

This week you can see the battle of the budget busters as the mighty Bugatti Veyron races the Eurofighter. Jeremy also takes commuting to bold new heights as he drives the world's smallest car to the Top Gear office.

Plus, James will be climbing aboard the new Rolls-Royce and probably having a thoroughly nice time. And the new Ferrari will be getting a comprehensive thrashing on the test track.

Also in the studio, Jeremy chats to Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones and we take an exclusive look at the new million-euro Lamborghini Reventon.
This seems to become an epic episode :D Can´t wait!

twboy1999 10-27-2007 10:27 PM

Haha come on, that wasn't too bad...

But it does say something that I think the best part of the show wasn't the 599 or the Veyron part, but the feature with Jeremy in the Peel

I agree the peel feature was pretty good but the rest sucked.
I hope the have some proper car reviews in the series.
But they need drop the celeb bit i really think that is a waste of time.
:D 8)

Svensson 10-28-2007 10:02 PM

4000 Quid?? I'll just stick with the yellow ones...

r2r 10-28-2007 11:54 PM

That was a good episode from the beginning to the end.

novass 10-29-2007 12:47 AM

That was a good episode. For once even the Star/Car was entertaining. Who else wants a Peel?

nejcdolinsek 10-29-2007 04:52 AM

Anybody else notice that Hammonds hair is getting longer and longer and longer....?

blue8 10-29-2007 04:58 AM

I haven't seen the episode but I'm aware of the 599's lap time. To be honest, I was quite disappointed especially since it's apparently slower than the McMerc!! The episode sounds good though and I look forward to watching it :D

Dont watch it mate, The 599 review depressed me big time :( I hate it , when they dont have anything bad to say, and they start with'' theres no right hand drive, its wide, its hot'' crap :x

Typical for 99% of british journalists.

Sorry, the dashboard light it`s blue, it should of been green.
Ermmm, that button shouldn`t be there , but more to the left and a little bit up.
And so on, but after a while it doesn`t matter, truth be told and a lot of magazine proved on various occasions, the Fiorano is the benchmark for GT`s.

End of story. :P

I'd get murdered in a peel here. It would be hilarious to drive down the sidewalk of the Strip - even funnier yet to go inside some of the casinos in it honking at people to make way for me. It's really not a whole lot different for fat old grannies in those motored wheelchairs.

I'm surprised to see Jezza not licking the balls of the 599. The way things have been going lately for his car reviews I was expecting for him to be "sold" a minute into the review.

I wish they had done more with the Eurofighter than the Star in a Car drudgery. My god is that thing a wet dream or what? I expected May to pipe up about it a little more since he had a ride in one. Maybe they filmed the 2 features around the same time?

Well anyway, I'm excited for the African roadtrip. Hopefully it's not just more of the same although I'm sure some of it will be.

Interesting episode. The Peale bit was hilarious. Especially driving around the BBC, getting turned around in the road, etc. I have to say its an interesting concept, a car thats almost like suitcase. As others have said, not practical here but still cool. Here youd be a pancake somewhere flattend by a escallade or some other suv.

The roller was well shot. The camera work and style reminded me of the 80s miami vice camera work. It didnt hurt to reference the death of Stig 1 either. Not really my type of car but good for what it is.

The guy from Rolling Stones... He ran a good lap and some of his stories were entertaining. One of the more entertaining stars in a reasonably priced car, and I dont even like the Stones.

The lexus parking bit was a tad too much filler to be honest. Especially given its way dated. I saw the same system demoed on a production model over a year ago. Funny but just a tad bit slow.

The Veryon was a twist on an old favorite, the car versus jet drag race. The results were honestly pretty predictable. The jet was cool, but Im starting to think the Veryon is a bit over exposed. Then again I never was a big fan of it so I might be bias.

I love the styling on the Ferrari, but damn is that some bad looking body roll. Ive seen less roll from Volvos. A respectable time in spite of that, but I wonder how it feels when your driving due to the roll.

Pokiou 11-07-2007 01:55 AM

it feels like 500.000 dollars rolling lol :D :P
