Changed the rear brakes on the RS2 today :)
 

Why was i concerned about this....It was a piece of cake!. Took me 2 hours to do both discs and pads (calippers had to come off), and I got to adjust the handbrake, which is a pain in the ass on RS2's. First one took 1,5 hours, the next, a half. Can't wait to do the fronts. I could already feel a significant difference, and I may have to much breaking power to the rear now. (old pads were almost finished, and the discs were f*cked up by a nail I hit)

I'm working on it! Called my college today to try and ind out when my final exams are....no answer... maybe next week I'll get an answer.

brakes are fun. probably the next easiest job next to changing the oil :D

sounds good!. I'm going with the 245/45/R17 Goodyear Eagle F1 and stock Porsche pads.

The meet was the 19/20th of May?.. In that case, I'm coming!. Got an email from the scool now with all my examdates.

Isnt it awesome the feeling you accomplishing something on your car :D , even if it is just something like changing brake rotors/pads. God, if I had a dollar for everytime ive had the discs off on the Porsche....

I just did the front ball-joints on the Porsche (because of the lowered front end had to get longer ball-joints to flatten on the control arms and steering arms), and it was funny like you said, the first one takes a long ass time, then the 2nd one goes relativly quickly.

true, true. Only problem is that now I'm hooked....what am I going to fix next? Or maybe not fix, my car is fine, but upgrade? Powerflex bushings maybe? 8)

Bushings are fun it took me 2 hours to do all the rears in My truck today, that's on a lift with air tools and a large press, torch, sawzall and ballping hammer, oh and 2 long ass prybars... Off-Roading will do some damage to them (I literaly tore the rubber from the metal housings on almost all the trailing arms and idler arms and snapped a sway bar endlink) So next week I am installing a 2 inch lift kit and Quick disconnect Sway bar end links.

But....... I have no mechanical education..only a mechanical interest. I have no specialist tools in Bergen, (I do have a " do it yourself garage with all the needed tools", but I think you are at least one+ level past me on the mechanical knowledege T-bird.

that's what I'm saying. I do this for a living and it took me forever to do bushings so be prepared to spend a lot of time espcially with poly ones as they are a bitch to get in. oh and make sure to use the lubricant they give you so they don't squeek.
