While those people weren't incredibly smart for standing on the outside of an unprotected corner, what an idiot the driver is for driving away like nothing happened. :x

When you go to a rally you park your ass where is the least possible place for a car to go. You don't stay where a car could go if the driver looses control.
second: that driver should've stopped and call for an ambulance. asshole

Hey, that was this saturady, at Brasov Rally, here in Romania. What the driver did, was intentionated, as he saw that he couldnt make the turn, so he decided to hit the sign beside the road, and reduce some of the speed. After that , he took of, to finish the stage , and tell the organisers to stop the rally. No one was seriouslly hurt, all 6 people are fine now. But that was there own fault, as it is prohibited to stay in that section of the course. This happened several times in Romanian rallyes....maybe 2 or 3 times a year, most of the videos on that page , are the accidents at our rallyes....

at the news, the marshalls said , those people were arguing with them, in order to stay in that part of the course. I'm searching now for a different shot of the accident, where you can see clearly, that the car hitt a road sign, wich reduced the impact

1. You spectate motorsport at your own risk.
2. The driver is in a race - not a "care for the spectators" event. - he crashed, and recovered and went on - correct action.

He has no reason or need to stay around and get in the way of the professional EMT's. Assuming the rally organisors had EMT's around - either way, its not the drivers job to stick around and give mouht to mouth to anyone.

Interesting that there was no guard rail in that section, but on the second 1/2 of the turn you could clearly see the guard rail.

those are side roads, they dont have guard rails everywhere, and this is common here. I spoke with a friend who is a time judge at these rallyes, and he said this happends more often than you think, but it isint always cought on camera. At least here, last year there were 3 crashes, in wich 2 had fatalities, and in all of tha cases the fault was of the spectators who dont respect the places in wich they need to stay to be safe. In some cases, they even fought the gendarms to stay where they can see better the cars, because they were sure nothing would happen with them.... :roll:

I live in Transilvania too. I'd say, it's the fault of the organisers. I've been at some rally races and some drag races. You can't imagine how unthoughtful and careless the organisers are. At the first few dragraces they didn't eaven put some barriers or something between the spectators and the dragstrip. The cars were going over 130kph 2 meters from the spectators (more than 1000 of them). The event had to be closed because they couldn't get the spectators off the dragstrip. After a year now, it still isn't as it should be. Safety is the last issue they think about.

acctaully.. in most countries your not allowed to watch the rally from the side of the road.. you do it at your own risk.

I have some friends who organise those races, and its not there fault people are morons. ok? So stop judging them, because you cant fight 3000 people who want to get hit by a tyre or something . EVRYTIME there are loads of police and jandarms, and no one can stand in front of every crap head that wants to taste the car while it passes in front of them. These are the Balkan people, instead of thinking at there lifes, they rather pick a fight with the autorities on where they shouldnt stay to watch the race. The driver didint had any fault, the organisers didint had any faults either, only the idiots that got hit. And that is what the autorities said at the news, and that is the truth :wink:

that is what happened here, and in the drag races and other events like this....but only after some serious accidents....only than people take serios actions...but morons like that will live forever, and accidents like this wont stop :!:

For the people who are quite shocked at this, now you know why Group B was cancelled sadly, there was no crowd-control whatsoever! :shock:

And been looking at it couple of times, its their own fault, you can expect that to happen so why not look for a save spot.?

I have to agree with you. Rally races are hard to control. The only thing that can be done is to cancel the event, like James said. That would teach them. And are any smart guys between those organisers? Why don't they put some barriers (of plastic, filled with water or sand) to the dangerous places? That would reduce highly the risk of getting someone killed.
And why do I still think that the organisers are guilty? Because they want to hold a rally, they plan everything, so it's their responsability to protect poeple, eaven morons, trees, bunnies, etc. I bet if a car hits a telephone pole, the gocernement gets them to pay for it. Is a telephone pole worth more than human life (or health)?

That would be quite hard to do and expensive....and like the drag races on the Airport were, it would take a lot of time to set them up, and than clear them, and lets be frank about this....when you saw the Romanian goverment or organisers spent that much time and money on a 10 hour event?? Im a bit shocked that some of the users find this amazingly awkward....but i dont think i saw organised rallyes or races here that didint had any problems, with the crowds or cars.....i have pics from the drag races here when the 2 cars crash, a biker falls down and than its taken by ambulance, people beeing hit by cars, crowd revolt and many other ''normal'' habits....

Why do they have to organize an event if they have no founds for security? Protecting the crowd is the first issue they have to think about! No matter how much it costs, no matter how much time it takes!
You say, you didn't see events where everything worked right. Maybe in our contry. But I was at many events and shows in western countries and I haven't seen any accident. (For example, at a "rubber-burning" event which was less dagerous and it last only a few hours, not 10! they set up a 1meter tall metal barrier that rounded the whole stage) Everything was under control at the max. and it was organised as it has to be. My conclusion is, that safety is the last our government and organisers care about.
