It looks disturbingly like a BMW it looks like it has an iDrive in the center console. the only part that really looks like a meredes is the back half.

Yes, it really looks like a 7 serie of BMW but i read in Autocar that they (Mercedes) will have to add an i-drive too because there are always more and more functions to act and they can't add as much buttons except for the Boeing pilots ...

guys just cause there is a driver info centre doesnt mean its I drive. audi has one as well and bmw aint suing them!

how can you tell what the rear looks like its all camouflaged everything is out of proportion look at the trunk.

I saw some pix in a mag, and the ass is going to look similair to the Maybach.

i saw that same i drive i think in a VW or an Audi

You may be thinking of the Phaeton, or the Audi A8 6.0 Quattro.

my dad drove the 760li w/ iDrive and he said he hated it. He said it was the most complicated thing to use, and it was ment to make things easier. Hopefully mercedes stays the way it is w/o idrive

The second generation iDrive on the 5 series is much easier to use and they will be using it on the newer 7-series

I do see the maybach slopings, but it still doenst look as classy.

There's just too many functions and stuff on newer luxury vehicles. They can't make buttons for everything. The new iDrive seems to work ok when you just get the hang on how to move that wheel, but I think I'd might prefer a touch screen instead of iDrive. The only problem with a touch screen is that your focus would be completely off the road when using it...

I don´t like very much but people that like MB say it´s different from Bmw. I don´t know what to say. When it was completely finish, we´ll see.

I checked in on a MB enthusiasts board last night. They DEFINITELY didn't like it. And they were all aware of how similar it is to the 7-series...

Didn't anyone read the part about the 6.3 V8? 600bhp...and its not of their top of the range V12.

finally MB are goin with a normally aspirated engine for their amg models

Interior like coming from Munich, but outside its clearly a big Benz. Ive liked a lot of the style they have been going lately. :)

The new S-class has its looks taken from the Maybach, looks like the pic they had in Automobile magazine.

The exterior is nice, Mercedes is forgiving it's new and ugly SLK's style...

Every one has been criticising the interior of the 7 series and the i drive but it is clear what the future interior will look like. Conclusion BMW shows how future cars will look like, even the rear of the car resembles the 7 series as i ve seen cars not so heavily camouflaged.

Just read an article about the new S and it is supposed to return to the large dimensions of the last body style. They didn't have any interior pic's, though, and you are right - it does look very similar to the 745i.
