The first car is a real Mercedes Vision SLR concept. The second is a car built by Roberta Furtak from Cracow in Poland. He made it in his garage using... a 1:18 model as a base. Simply amazing. What do u think ??

It's obviously not a mercedes SLR it's too high up the headlights are off al little the door hinges are different than the real SLR the wheels are wrong, the door sills are too wide, the proportions are all off.

Very nicely done :!: Good to see that a country with such craftsmen will join the EU shortly.

If memory serves me right I did see some pics on the Inet which covered the various stages of the 'production proces'. Can't 'google' them at the moment though :shock:

i think for the perportions being all wrong :wink: thats a prety damn good clone..considering he built his before the real slr came out didnt he?

It was definetly a good try and takes some skill but you can still tell the difference when you look at it

Yup, he did. I heard MB offered him about $200,000 for the car. They were furious after hearing about the car.

Daimler Chrysler was furious, they thought it was a "leek". They took immediate actions, by accusing one of the dealers of revealing information about the project.
They couldn't believe that Furtak made the car from a 1:18 model. I found this info somewhere in the internet, it doesn't mean that it has to be true.

There is a common phrase in Poland - "Polak potrafi". It means "a Pole can" :)

Nicely done, I admit. But ther air intake is off. The original one has a deper air sucking front vent.
