2007 Mazda RX-8
I know I was talking about getting a used M3 or S4, but not only did I not find any good ones in my price range, I figured I'm only 20 and I should get a new fun car that I don't have to worry about repairing for a while.
So here it is, my new 06 RX-8. It had 34 miles when I purchased it wednesday from a local dealer. http://img37.imagevenue.com/loc576/t..._122_576lo.jpg http://img44.imagevenue.com/loc386/t..._122_386lo.jpg http://img130.imagevenue.com/loc541/..._122_541lo.jpg http://img37.imagevenue.com/loc519/t..._122_519lo.jpg http://img44.imagevenue.com/loc450/t..._122_450lo.jpg http://img175.imagevenue.com/loc461/..._122_461lo.jpg It is not as fast as my 93 RX-7 of course but it is definitely easier to drive and a lot of fun too. The rear seats are pretty spacious and I love the suicide doors. I'll take more pics when I figure out how to take better quality ones. |
Congrats - You got a good handling car there!
|
Congrats dude, enjoy it & stay safe!
|
awsome ... i'd love to have this as my first car  ...
congrats 8) |
awesome car, and damn fun to drive. I love the motor that spins to no tomarrow! :good:
I heard they were having alot of reliability issues. Anyone know if those have been resolved? |
Congratulations dude! The RX-8 is one awesome car. Have fun and stay safe.
Any mod plans? |

Btw, I saw these TSW rims on a silver one that I liked. Think they would look good on a black one? http://www.rx8club.com/attachment.ph...chmentid=92737 |
those are some fugly rims
|
talk about "being to the point"
|
I'm not to fond of those rims, sorry. If you're going to spend money on some rims, just go all the way and get some quality ones. I think Volks or BBS would look sick on your RX-8, in bronze or black.
|
Congrats man that is really one of the cars I would like to own myself one day!
Good engine, good everything since its a Mazda! Hope you have lots of fun with it! :D |
Congrats! Nice car :D I haven't ever seen one in black, but then again, I haven't seen much of these cars anyway! Hope to see more pictures of it :)
|
Thanks everyone. :D
And I see what you all mean by the wheels being ugly; sticking with stock would be better over those TSWs. I'll probably go with something that looks like my old wheels. http://img128.imagevenue.com/loc346/..._122_346lo.jpg http://img148.imagevenue.com/loc440/..._122_440lo.jpg Quote:

Sounds great. 34 miles!?!?! The old owner mustn't have liked it very much. Or was it a demonstrator?
|
^ Vansquish, I read in a Road & Track long term test that they had a tough time starting the car in cold. I forget what was the issue but the car was dead in the morning after a cold night.
Did you face any such issues? |

Nope...it was quite reliable. The only thing of which you should be aware is that if you flood the engine or start the car, move it up the driveway and then shut it off again (or any other such short distance), you run the risk of leaving unburnt fuel in the engine...it'll pass directly into the cats thanks to the rotors simply sweeping it to the exhaust ports rather than burning it as in any other ICE. Basically all that means is, don't stall it on startup if you can avoid it, and if you do have to move it a short distance as I described, give it enough time to warm up a little before you shut it off. It's slightly wasteful, but will ensure that you never have trouble starting it. Aside from all that, you're in Texas if I'm not mistaken, so the likelihood of you having weather cold enough to make it fail is pretty slim in the first place.

Not a bad choice ;) definitely a fun car to drive.. I had the pleasure if renting a RX-8 sport in 6speed a couple years ago..
Have fun and take good care of that rotary! |
