Uncool..

Its a Lexus :P

dutchmasterflex 01-09-2007 12:38 PM

I'll have to wait until I hear about how it performs..

chest3r 01-09-2007 10:08 PM

Cool!!

It's a bit soon to vote for this one but I voted cool just because it looks pretty cool.

I think a lot of people will think: Look at this riced up Lexus. Look at those exhausts!!

Yup. . . no vote yet.

Cool concept with too many doors.

Mattk 01-15-2007 12:47 AM

It looks like a ricer. What happened to Lexus subtlety? Uncool!

Vansquish 02-12-2007 10:12 PM

Poseur's car...it has a fair amount of power, and I don't doubt that it goes and stops well, but it's only available with an 8-speed auto...

taygunho 02-14-2007 08:09 AM

I don't thnik I wil vote cool for any lexus except Lexus GS 450h. IS-F is uncool for em.

Z3uS 02-15-2007 04:10 PM

Surrealistic design, who drew this thing? Salvador Dali?

formulastig 03-11-2009 11:56 AM

It probably works great because its a Lexus, but that is the reason it is uncool. A Lexus will never be cool.

10000rpmlover 03-11-2009 03:43 PM

the 4 door is uncool, still awaiting on the 2 door coupe that resembles a futuristic supra, now that will definitely be cool (OH IF TOYOTA WOULD ONLY RELEASE IT UNDER THE TOYOTA BRAND)

The way things are going, we'll never see it under any brand. Which I think is a good thing.

Suppose to have one of the best automatics around, better than most sequential manuals. 100 millisecond shift times is pretty damn good.

14.2" Brembos in the front taking just 106 ft to stop from 60mph. 4.4 Seconds 0-60mph. 71.2mph slalom.

I don't think that is a "poseur's car" at all. And this is coming from a BMW guy.

Evo8 03-13-2009 09:39 AM

It's a Lexus, which means it can't be cool (Toyota can, for being a bit blue-collar). And since it's comfortable and has an automatic, that makes it seriously uncool.

It doesn't matter how fast the gearbox makes shifts, explain that to the engineers all you want, but a normal person would be bored before you say the second word. Automatics are uncool. It may very well be fast, but so is an airliner.

Nah. In the US, the idea of "blue collar" Toyota is oxymoronic. All their range is gussied up to look fancy, and their cars are bought by self-styled yuppies.

Case in point. A Chevy pulling a Toyota race trailer. Truck racing no less.

I want to like the IS-F, and it sounds good, but I can't get over how it looks (ridiculous) and the badge will never make it truly cool.

It'd be actually cool if it were to take down the established benchmarks. But it hasn't.

if I was to forget about style, the "feel good" stuff about a car i'd probably buy this, but no, I cannot ever see myself buying that thing, besides the fact that it costs premium money, it looks ridiculous, at that price tag, there are far better looking options

it's not all about looks, but if you are gonna pay with your kidneys then it better be something special which this lexus isn't, I wanted them to release the 2 door coupe much because it would actualy force the hand at the company I work with to release a better looking more powerful coupe sooner (rx-7 or not)
