definitely grab the Dodge. Much better looking, larger bed, and free.

I would say the dodge depending on the condition of the car. If it is going to cost more than 1700 bucks to get it up and runnning reliably, then you have a harder decision to make, but it is damn hard to turn down a free car.

I would go for the free truck. Free stuff is good.

i would take the chevy. but depends on how the technical conditions are and what needs to be done.
i always wanted to have such a pickup, but with crewcab. but when getting older i've found out that it's not very clever to drive a car like this in switzerland... fuel is to expensive and parking lost are mostly to small... :(

On 4x2 v. 4x4, if urban driving is all you're going to do, you don't really need 4x4.

well if you want the dodge,
why not take the chevy, sell it, then buy the dodge.

I'd say it's currently worth around A$5000-6000. I'd probably start off offering $2000.

But I wouldn't buy her truck. I reckon she's too short to even open the bonnet, which probably means a few things the engine needs haven't been administered. By the time I save enough to buy it, and get a good enough job to maintain it, the car will probably be not worth buying.

I know some Canadians and they seem to get along all right without 4x4. :S
