I can do that if people are happy to trust me, I will of course post up screen grabs to prove that I paid the money over, please can someone find out if the charity take visa, cheque and paypal etc, it would be easier to post the proof up if it were visa or paypal.

I will make a list of everyone that has donated in the name of JW here (which can have its own thread if there is enough demand for it) :

Anyone wanting to make a donation to the Hammond chosen charity in the name of JW (but your name will be included on the get well card) can send their donations to the usual address [email protected] - PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU MENTION THAT THE DONATION IS FOR THE HAMMOND CHARITY AND ALSO INCLUDE YOUR JW USER ID.

I can also accept payments in the post/bank transfer and moneybookers but you will need to PM me for the details.


Thats a great link for these reasons :

1. "if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you." which I am so thats another good point.

2. You can pay by Visa.

3. You can post a message with your name that shows the amount you have donated only when you have actually paid, and we can still get some free advertising in for the site with a bit of luck.

Well I was going to set a target of say £1,000 and then make a post on piston heads saying that is how much we raised for the charity which they helped to set up.

Sadly I think that figure is just a dream though, so how about we make it £500...what does everyone else think ??

The odd thing is, when we have donation months for JW, we get a lot of response even if people cannot / are not going to donate.

Well I guess people get alot back from JW, and they want the service to continue, so they dont mind parting with a few bucks, someone who pays £1.99 a month says its the best money he currently spends in terms of being good value.

The helicopter fund is of course much more important, but then again they do already have over £150,000.

as mentioned in the other thread, i haven't the currency at the moment and i'm at the mercy of other things too :(

if i can manage it, i'll pitch in a bit.

I think you are right, especially as RH gets better (which is a good thing of course) and moves out of the news.

I think I will wait for the couple of postal donations to arrive that I have been promised, before then rounding it up to £200 if necessary with another donation from me, and then pass it over to the helicopter fund.

Yeh, sad indeed, its because people know that even if they don't donate, then there will always be others around to help finance a helicopter, JW or whatever.

Sadly yours is the last donation I am expecting as I got the others today via bank transfer, so I guess yours will be the last one before we hand the money over to the helicopter fund.

Your both exactly right, I always donate when it comes to these matters, wanna know why? Because my grandfather (who I never knew) got a heartattack and there was only 1 ambulance in the town (as we have 12 now! :shock: ) and the ambulance was already in use. That cost him his life. So I always give money to these matters as I know its always for a good cause :wink:

Yep got your money today cheers, I have decided to donate another £90 from the JW donations pot, to make it upto £300 so that I can hand the cash over today.

If any other donations arrive after I have handed the money over, then I shall re-credit the JW donation pot with that money (hope this makes sense).
