BTW I opened one of the recent Mac desktops, some studio producer came to fix it, and my fuck. What a peice of shit.

It weights a ton, but I opened it and it looks like a bloody all onboard, peice of shit PC. Except it had a radeon.

It doesnt even have a CPU fan. Just a heat sink, of fucking 1980s design, that weights more then a new born. Aluminum,,,,not even fancy pency copper.

And it had some really cheap ram on it, I mean cheap shit. No heat spreaders nothning. I thought Mac is high end shit? Its the same brand as I see on Dells. I dont even know teh name, I just remeber the logo. And its shit.

Did I mention the crappy ass power supply? Its about 100 years behind anything Enermax has to offer. :roll: Cheap capasitors and chinese transistors.


This saturday turned me off from macs forever. Its fucking shite.

I always wondered where a 75 year old works. Is it "Crazy Old Man's Computer Shack"?

Well the only Apple products I like are their laptops because they are very slim just under 1 inch and that helps alot when you are limited on computer space and when you take it somewhere it just very nice. They do however get very hot from my experiences witha G4 titianium edition. I also dont like the Apple OS at all. Other than their laptops I dont think they make anything good...well the ipod's are sorta nice. I got that black one. :roll:

The apple OS is like the Mercedes S class. Everyone will copy its fancy features eventually. So whatever comes out for the new apple OS's, you'll see in Windows Vista when it comes out or through patches of some sort.

Vista is still some time off.

And is likely to be buggy.

Actually I thought the screen sucked becuase alot of people had the hinge break and judgeing by yours looks like you too have keyboard imprints on the screen which just drives me nuts.

Also the Thinkpads are badass! I have one too. I think an X20. I was gonna get a X60 for my dad but plans changed and he already bought another laptop. :twisted: What model is yours?

not a hater, but i seriously wonder why anybody would even want a macintosh; as no reason has made sence thus far.

PC's do the same things...... PC do the same things better, and faster.... PC's do more things..... PC's are cheaper.... PC's are more upgradable....... PC's run better (although mac addicts will disagree; but I have not had a blue screen of any sort since i built the XP rig here in 2002)

I like all Apple screens. They just look great.

I used both mac and PC, at work, at home (as you can see) and there is nothing, nothing that a mac is better at then a PC.

In all honesty I want a MAC laptop for school work and also the fact that its very thin just under one inch. I when I buy one wont use OSX or Windows and probably just install Fedora or one of them distros depending on what would be best for the laptop.

As I said I just want one because they are lowprofile and just clean rather than windows laptop.

Rite now I am seriously thinking wether to get a Thinkpad X60s or a Mac book.

I want a widescreen monitior why I cant get the Thinkpad but I also want two god damn mouse button rather than just one! :twisted: There are also a few other issuse that are making me think about getting a X60 or MAC but software is definetley not one of them now considering I can Install Linux or Windows on them. I might just hold off and get one till the new Windows and new Mac software comes out so my hardware will be up to date since I know Vista is a damn killer on hardware requirements! Currently only 3 of my 20 or so PC's and laptops meet vista requirements! :cry:

Great little machine. Runs quick as hell. I dunno what it is about these mobile chips, but windows always runs great on them.

Yeah IBM are badass as hell I just love their Laptops and I even tried a desktop I cant remeber the model but it was a brand new system costing around 6 - 7 grand for the system I think it was a server workstation that my cousin has.

The thinkpad also has low power consumptation which is very nice when you are traveling. Also its slim and lightweight. Doesnt get hot or anything. I havent had any problems with mine at all! I even dropped it from a shelf which was around 6 feet high and it slammed into the carpet floor and not a single scratch on the case or the screen and everthing works fine! And this was before they even made those magnesium reenforced cases! :shock:

That's why zee TiBook was discontinued after awhile & replaced with the Aluminum-based Powerbooks with a harder to break uni-hinge.

Apple has the tendency to make painfully compact notebooks thus the keyboards inprinting on the LCD. IBM has a more-fault tolerant take on it though my 2 Thinkpad's hinges did break after 3+ years of service. While they were in working order they were pretty good machines. Pity that the HDD had a tendency to break often.

On the LCDs I'd still go for those sold by Dell. Cheap & more functional too. Just need to put black electrical tape on the center bottom bezel to hide the logo and you're set.

Speaking of Apple LCDs...

The 20" Cinema Display now sells for $699 (down from $799), the 23" Cinema Display now sells for $999 (down from $1299), and the 30" Cinema Display now sells for $1999 (down from $2499), representing cuts of $100, $300, and $500 respectively.

Not as cheap as Dells or as functional but it's a welcome change.

Also the older thinkpads HDD sucked because I think the4y had them damn 5400 rpm hdd and I have like 4 5400 rpm HDD that all just died or dies after like 10 mins of using it. So when I get new HDD its either 7200 or more. Usually just 7200 because they are cheaper.

IIRC those old TP HDD's ran at 4200RPM. The 5400RPM is the current stadnard for notebook HDDs and the 7200RPM is the current high-end/
