Wow...can anyone say "lag"... ....then woooooshhhhhhh

pagani 07-24-2006 01:53 PM

Turbo lag is not a problem for this car because it's a automatic and you can brake boost it.
:D :o

RC45 07-24-2006 02:26 PM

Pretty nice... for a dyno queen... :P

Maybe from a start, but not from a roll

pagani 07-24-2006 03:34 PM

This car is not a dyno or trailer queen this car has run best et of 8,45
He drove his car to and from the dragstrip.
And this car has won more street racing than you could poke a stick at.

:D :o

It's a straight line dyno queen...

"Won more street racing" is such a joke.

Street racing is just that - street racing - if the car WON on the drag strip heads up as many times then maybe we could talk. But "3 horn beeps and lets roll" is not an accurate measure of car or driver. Neither is some chick with a flashlight sending you off on a street start race.

It's a dyno queen. :)

And an ugly on at that ;)

Oh - and it can't turn corners either.

saadie 07-24-2006 03:57 PM

you cant really compare street racing cars with track cars ....
i like it :)

pagani 07-24-2006 04:09 PM

Rc45 that is first i here from american that cornering importend than a good et on a dragstrip.
This still best street supra on earth
Here rc 45 a nice video link for the story on this supra.
This has run a et 8,45 @162 mph pretty fast for a street driven car.
How many cars with this sort hp (1000 whp) can take to a strip club not many.
A normal street tune on this car means 30 psi but have turned the boost up to 60 psi and they said it can take more boost.
This is most insane street car ever.
Buttomline is this is still 100 % streetcar and i kown you can't compare a street car to a race car this car is as fast as some of full blown drag race supra's.

Actually I can think of at least 10 1000rwhp street cars in Hsouton.. ;)

Vipers, Vettes and Supras... all streetable...all street driven.. all taken to local drag strip and stripper strip clubs :P

And they are all really dyno queen rollon cars :)

But the Vipers and Vettes actually outhandle the Supras :)

This not a car setup for corners just straightline and street driving.
A dyno queen for me is car that never see's anything than a dyno shop
I like cars than can corners myself but sometimes a nicely prepped street/strip/streetrace car is refreshing.
With a diffrent setup even this car would handle but that not really the point.
I kown that 1000 hp + cars handle like a wild bull but that's not the point of this tread.
This supra is one about one the street driven automatic supra's ever.

Off topic And i kown a supra that will own a vette or viper in the corners
Here is the viper/vette slayer!

Thats an aweful bold statement to make.

Here you are sitting 10,000 miles away, telling me about how good a car is 8,000 miles away from you - when you hardly realize that Houston in home to MTI, RSI and Hennessey - not to mention a myriad of other tuners that all have 1000rwhp+ Vettes, Vipers, Supras, Mustangs and others- all streetable and all street driven ;)

And with regard to your "you know w Supra" comment - stock for stock the Viper and Corvette (from C4 or C5 or C6 Genereations) will soundly beat the Supra abou tthe head like the wimpy beatch it is.. :P

And once you start modding, let me remind you that STREET CHASSIS bases Vipers and vettes have won LeMans and every other race in the tsreet GT class sports car series... last I checked - the Supra has only won in Japan in highly modified form ;)

So while I hate to set up and take a sucker bet - you name the time and place and I will arrange the Vettes and Vipers to take out your Supra on the strip, street AND road course.

Is it ok if I bring cars from RSI, MTI, Hennessey and Lingenfelter to our little challange? ;)

pagani 07-24-2006 06:23 PM

Sorry texas is to far away from me and realisticly i don't have driver lincene and i have never driven any car in my life that fastest i have been in a car and my dad was driving was 200 km/h on the clock.
A stock viper or vette will have better handling than a supra that because the supra was marketed as gt not a hardcore track car like a viper or vette or porsche.
Anyway i kown that their are some very good tuners in houston but all to up the owers how they setup or use their car it's their car not mine.
You are right the supra is somewhat tweaked in some places.
The zo6 vette is world beater one of favorite cars ever but also like japense and some european cars.
No challange for me rc 45
:D :o

nthfinity 07-24-2006 06:37 PM

whoa

the chassis of the Supra just isn't up to the task that the Viper's, and Vettes, and 911's have proven in race series after race series.

why is it that a stock vette/viper/porsche will outlap a supra with a better power/weight ratio?

chassis strength and rigidity play enormously in improving handling.... the new mustang is more then 3 x as rigid as the SN95 platform... which lends itself to a far better track performer, even in stock vs. stock, or similarly tuned behavior... the new one will win each time.

this is a drag car, in sleeper form. sure its fast, but how are its panel gaps with all that power, and w/out visible aids to the chassis... im sure one gap is penny tight, and another you can put your fingers in....

pagani 07-24-2006 06:47 PM

The white supra is a sleeper car for the dragstrip/ street.
And the gsc motorspor supra is the one for the corners but it now retired for roadracing/time attack it's now a normal streetcar they now have a evo for road racing/time attack this wil be faster than the supra on a road course because it's lighter has awd and has one the best awd chassis's in the world.

And evo's winning time attack competions all over the world.
Porsche vette's and viper and even mustang have better chassis than a
supra and the supra is in fact a pretty old car it's from the early 90's,
not a match for any current performance car today until you tune it .
The white supra is using the stock wheels and they are not very large compared to what they now fit to fast cars 18 inch or larger.
i really don't kown what the reason for the panel gap is.
I never said anything about any tuner just about some cars ok rc45.
And i now that vette's viper have won le mans several times but those cars are not exactly stock and just as highly modefied as let's say a jgtc supra.
But i really don't think that we ever see a supra and vette in the same race.
Here is the full story on the car.
SUPRA IS STILL THE "FASTEST STREET SUPRA IN THE WORLD."
HOW DO YOU TAKE A 320 HORSEPOWER TWIN TURBO SUPRA AND GET 1520 RWHP OUT OF IT? THIS SUPRA WAS BUILT WITH NO EXPENSES SPARED AND WITH ONLY THE BEST OF PARTS. THIS CAR WAS BUILT WITH MANY "ONE OFF" PARTS, ONLY MADE FOR THIS SPECIFIC CAR. THIS SUPRA SINGLE HANDEDLY RAISED THE BAR ON IMPORT RACING. TAKING A SMALL DISPLACEMENT ENGINE AND STUFFING IT WITH A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF BOOST IS WHAT THIS CAR HAS DONE.

THIS SUPRA HAS A RACE PREPPED ONE OF A KIND 2JZ GTE ENGINE THAT IS A PRO RWD IMPORT CLASS ENGINE CONVERTED TO RUN ON GASOLINE INSTEAD OF THE METHANOL THAT IS REQUIRED TO RUN IN THE PRO CLASS.

BUILT TO ACCOMMADATE A MIND BLOWING AMMOUNT OF BOOST PRESSURE, CARILLO RACE RODS, WISECO CUSTOM SPEC'D AND DESIGNED PISTONS, BILLET MAIN CAPS, RACE PORTED CYLINDER HEAD WITH 1 MM OVERSIZE VALVES, 5 ANGLE VALVE JOB, VWR INTAKE MANIFOLD, 90 MM THROTTLE BODY, AND HKS 272 CAMS.

IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS AMOUNT OF HORSEPOWER A CUSTOM SPEC GARRET GT47-88 SINGLE TURBO WAS MOUNTED UNDER THE HOOD. ALL THIS COMPRESSED AIR EXITS THE BLOCK THROUGH A CUSTOM TUBULAR RACE HEADER CONSTUCTED OUT OF THE FINEST 321 STAINLESS STEEL.

ONCE THE POWER LEVELS EXCEEDED 800 HORSEPOWER, OUT WENT THE FACTORY RACE PREPPED TRANS AND IN WENT A CUSTOM TURBO 400 MANUAL VALVE BODY TRANSMISSION. YES, THIS IMPORT DOES HAVE A CHEVY PART IN IT, BUT NO ONE MAKES A STRONGER TRANS THAN THE WELL RACE PROVEN TH400 WITH A HIGH STALL RACING TORQUE CONVERTER. TO ENSURE THAT ALL THIS POWER IS PLANTED TO THE GROUND, A TRD DIFFERENTIAL LOCKER WAS ADDED TO THE REAR END. THIS CAR HAS ENOUGH FUEL, A 2000 HP FUEL SYSTEM WAS ADDED WITH A BIG WELDON 2035A FUEL PUMP, 12AN FEED LINE, WELDON BILLET FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR, WELDON STEP DOWN REGULATOR FOR STREET DRIVING, 165LB PER HR FUEL INJECTORS, BILLET 10AN FUEL RAILS AND ALL THIS IS CONTROLLED THROUGH AN AEM STAND ALONE ECU WITH A 5 BAR MAP SENSOR WHICH HAS SUCCESSFULLY MANAGED A WHOPPING 59PSI OF BOOST!!!

OTHER PARTS INCLUDE TEIN COILOVERS IN THE REAR AND A HKS 60MM WASTEGATE AND A MONSTROUS 5" 2100 HP AIR-AIR INTERCOOLER. ALTHOUGH THIS CAR IS EXTREMELY FAST ON THE TRACK, WITH A SIMPLE STREET PROGRAM YOU CAN CRUISE THE STREETS WITH GREAT STREET MANNERISM. THIS CAR LOOKS VERY STOCK, HAS A BRAND NEW PAINT JOB, AND HAS ALL DYNO FIGURES TO SHOW THE 1520 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER FIGURES. THIS CAR HAS NOTHING BUT THE BEST OF PARTS AND OWNED BY A TRUE CAR ENTHUSIAST. THE PREVIOUS OWNER WAS VERY METICULOUS AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THIS CAR. ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS CAN BE ANSWERED. THIS CAR IS WELL DOCUMENTED FOR THE PERFORMANCE FIGURES. IT IS NOT A DYNO QUEEN NOR A TRAILER QUEEN.

MARKO DJURICH, PREVIOUS OWNER, WELL KNOWN, COMPLETELY RESPECTED, A TRUE DIE HARD AUTOMOBILE ENTHUSIAST DROVE THIS CAR NOT ONLY ON THE STREET BUT AT THE TRACK AND ALSO AT NATIONAL EVENTS. THIS BEAST WON THE 2002 NHRA STREET TIRE CLASS EVENT AT ATCO NEW JERSEY WHICH WAS TELEVISED ON ESPN2! IT WAS THE ONLY CAR THAT WAS DRIVEN TO THE EVENT AND NOT TRAILERED.

"I'VE NEVER HEARD OF ANY CAR DRIVING 100 MILES TO THE TRACK, MAKING FOUR 8 SECOND PASSES, WITH THE BEST OF 8.45 @ 162MPH, THEN DRIVING HOME ANOTHER 100 MILES!" ------ WOW

IT RUNS THE NUMBERS AND THERE IS ALSO VIDEO AVAILABLE OF THE CAR. OWN A PIECE OF IMPORT HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE QUITE POSSIBLY THE FASTEST MACHINE ON THE STREET.

Uhm - I can name a number of cars that started life at MTI and Hennessey that did just this.. Drove 100 miles to the drag strip - lay down an 8 or 9 sec run :P ;)

Oh - and just so you know - the Viper and Vettes run stock based chassis under their Le Man winning cars ;) Way closer to stock than any JGTC car

its a tell tale of several things

1: build quality.
2: chassis strenght
3: if the car has been raced

if its a poorly designed chassis, then no. 3 will show up in the form of very uneven panel gaps. you can't have that much twisting forces on that stock-looking of a car and not have it show up on the way the car is on the outside

I love Supras...

Boiled, fried, poached - in the morning , noon or night... :P

The Supra has been one of my all-time fave Japanese cars - I like it even more than the NSX or Skyline.... ;)

But one unlimited budget Supra doesn't make it the greatest tuner car in the world.. much like so many Skylines - great car, but "just another tuner car" - much like an tuner Vette, tuner Viper, tuner Porsche or even tuner Ferrari or Lambo.

There will always be some one quicker, someone with a bigger budget and someone to beat you tomorrow ;)

PaulGT2164 07-24-2006 09:53 PM

true there is always someone faster. i just fail to see the point in all the bickering.

T-Bird 07-24-2006 09:55 PM

Well I have seen this car in person and it has significant chassis strengthening there is a full rollcage and lower braces on the car. The car is fast as all hell. the fit and finish is amazing actually.

Erez 07-25-2006 03:27 AM

wow.. that turbo is about the same size as the engine.. i sure hope he has a antilag system.. (but some how doubt that..)

pagani 07-25-2006 05:26 AM

Did anybody of you spot the nitous bottle in the car the big turbo supra use nitrous for spooling up the turbo.
But some men here must 8,45 @162 is pretty fast for a 3,0 liter straight six engine.
No antilag on this car btw antilag is bad for your turbo.
Just think what sort of fun you have whit a 1520 whp supra!!
This car was uses to race very fast motorbikes.
:D :o

LotusGT1 07-25-2006 05:34 AM

I don't see a point in building this car into a dragster, when there are better suited, cheaper and faster alternatives available. Supras are notorious for their traction problems off the line, and I've seldomly seen a 1000Hp+ Supra manage to get an impressive 1/4 mile, when you consider its output.

A 1000Hp Supra most of the time runs with a 700Hp whatever you pick. I've always found many of the claims from the Supra community fishy, and ever to often a Supra couldn't live up its fame.

But if you still want to built it, all cool with that.

About the handling of the Supra, don't forget it's a 1993 car, and handles accordingly. It was a very good handler in its time, but surpassed today.

pagani 07-25-2006 05:38 AM

Most people see the supra as a the japanese muscle car.
You can make weapon of a supra with some decent mods in the right places just as a chevy v8 their many tuning parts for supra with the 2jz-gte engine.
Some supra live up the hype others not some will kick your ass others you just need to find the right supra but that is the same whit other cars
I love supra but also like gtr's and like to more than a supra.
Just because they are much better suited to a road course.
But stll loving supra's.
:D

pagani 07-25-2006 06:38 AM

Here a little video.
He uses nitrous to spool up the turbo.
:D :o

LotusGT1 07-25-2006 06:54 AM

Oh, I'm sure they will kick *my* ass. but that's far besides the point. The point is that a Supra sucks as a base for dragracing. It's one of the few occassions an American V8 is the obvious choice.

pagani 07-25-2006 07:13 AM

Turbo v8's are just as good on the street.
V8 are better for dragracing but sometimes imports are fast.
That's why is fun to see supra or other import car to see them kick as on the strip.

drag strips are gay .....

pagani 07-25-2006 08:19 AM

Stepchild i tend to agree with you that dragracing is gay.
But for some people that is everything.
I will aways pick a car with top handling than with dragstrip performance.
But sometimes a straightline beast is fun
:D :o

saadie 07-25-2006 09:26 AM

^^ only on a drag strip :P

pagani 07-25-2006 09:29 AM

Ok agree
Maby a little streetracing on very straight road.
:D  :P

saadie 07-25-2006 10:23 AM

^^ yeh .... but you do have to change lanes .. .
and you know exactly what happnens when a car changes lane on a drag strip ;)

anyway ..
with that type of turbo .... i dont think the car can drift ? ... or am i wrong :?

pagani 07-25-2006 07:12 PM

To much turbo lag to make a drift whit this car
Just spooling the turbo is very hard without the nitrous.
Just think what can happpen if you try to drift this car.
:D :o

T-Bird 07-25-2006 07:43 PM

You have to realize he also uses a very high stall torque converter on the car to keep the revs high to reduce the lag being that the car is an automatic.

gobs3z 07-26-2006 12:27 AM

Well it was at his shop 3 days ago with a new paint job, i guess this is why. It's where i'm getting free dyno time :D . I hope everyone realizes this is a 7 second car. This car has a full interior and with all that engine work they did, weight went up. I think they use a 200 shot for spooling the turbo, either way it's rare car that deserves some credit.

You have hit the nail right on his head.
This the fastest street supra ever.
I believe this used to race very cars and motorbikes like a suzuki hayabusa's and other fast stuff
And this is my 600 th post in this forum.
This the perfect street/strip car.

:D :o

Shinigami 07-26-2006 01:07 PM

I wonder with the air filter out in the engine bay, won't it be sucking in a lot of hot air? Should put some kinda air ram tube or something to feed it with fresh air rather then residual engine bay air :\ ?

pagani 07-26-2006 04:10 PM

Some big turbo cars have intake for the airfilter in the space where normal car have a headlight fitted.
Tho coolest thing about the car is still looks like came yesterday out of a toyota and still looks like a clean stock supra you never guess this car has a race spec engine that can kick your ass.
:D :D

T-Bird 07-26-2006 06:23 PM

It may look stock but the people around here that shouldknow about this car know it so sleeper not really. oh and the intercooler cools the air enough to not have to worry about intake air temps too much.

pagani 07-26-2006 06:34 PM

Yes but only the people that read car forum's and do car meets.
Their are plenty people would think this is just a stock car.
Anyway is his shop still around supercar tuning center??
:D :o

T-Bird 07-26-2006 06:49 PM

It's sound performance where this car was built if that's what you're asking.
