April 2006 Skoda Fabia vRS

Yes, finally got a method of getting some pics of the little beastie! (new phone with a camera on it, so excuse the pic quality and random sizes!)

These are just for verification purposes, I will take proper pics once my camera arrives (with all my other belongings, currently on their way)...

...mods so far:

1. SEAT PD160 Intake (looks like the stock Skoda PD130 intake but bore of air intake is much bigger = more air into the airbox).

2. Skoda Octavia 17" wheels with 205-40ZR17 Pirelli P Zero Neros.
The stock Fabia vRS wheels are 16" ;)

3. Jabbasport rear anti-roll bar (there isn't one as stock, just the rear axle), not yet fitted but is this weekend's job! Lift off oversteer a la Peugeot 106 will then be possible :D

I won't write much about what it's like to drive as I shall save that for when I write a review in the new 'reviews' section...

UK having a bit of a heatwave at present (see temp on dash display)

ARMAN 07-04-2006 05:35 PM

Octavia wheels looks badass on this little fabia  Drive it safely TransAm :D

TransAm 07-04-2006 05:39 PM

I will Arman, I will!

Specs: about 135hp / 230 lbft with the intake, stock = 130hp/228lbft.

0-60: around 8.5 sec, vmax = 130MPH (not tested ;) )

More pics in my photobucket album (right click for address) all shite quality though

LotusGT1 07-05-2006 08:16 AM

Sweet car dude, congrats. Those little RS tweeks make the car look so much better than a 1.2 one. Must be a great ride too...

How is it btw to be back in the UK? Fully settled already?

RC45 07-05-2006 09:37 AM

Nice...

So you up for another JW Housotn get together?

This time I am organizing a little jaunt on an actual Race Track.... that beastie should prove to be quite a bit of fun. :) ;) :P

NO PROBLEM

I hope the weather holds out for my trip out this weekend :good:

TransAm 07-07-2006 02:40 PM

Thanks guys!

RC, I did wonder how such a car would go down in Texas! What would people think when the black smoke comes out as the turbo spools up and they realise they've been burnt off by an itty bitty diesel?

gis 07-07-2006 03:14 PM

lol thats how i manage to keep up with my mate in his diesel punto, the black smoke before the power comes in,lol im bound to run in to you eventually

TransAm 07-07-2006 08:46 PM

only smokes if i floor it at 1300rpm. great for annoying cyclists

Pehtren 07-08-2006 11:07 AM

Get it chiped.

Nice car Transam but i liked the s2000 much more :!:

topgeartom 07-09-2006 01:11 PM

Awesome car transam - i was looking at these last week out of curiosity. Youve done exactly what i would do to it already - Octavia wheels, and the pd160 airbox.

Get the bastard chipped - 30bhp extra and a shit load more torque for £500!
http://www.superchips.co.uk/models.php

Also, how about a full leather retrim:
http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/4...07314es.th.jpg

Get a blueflame exhaust on the back!
http://img449.imageshack.us/img449/1...09143ov.th.jpg

And deck the bitch! slap some eibachs under those arches!

Seriously though dude, it looks awesome, id love a vRS sometime in the future, and if i were to have one - id have done exactly the same as what you have

TransAm 07-09-2006 03:05 PM

Tom, I already have full leather ;) , the Skoda option (just introduced as an option in 2006)! It added 10% to the basic car's price (ouch)

I can recommend the Fabia, great torque and fun to drive!

ARMAN 07-09-2006 04:16 PM

What about the promised photoshoot? :)

gis 07-09-2006 06:43 PM

yea id like some cool pics of your car mate,i found a good spot up rivington were i took my car for sum this past weekend, you should go to this spot...

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/9044/10100896ec.th.jpg

topgeartom 07-09-2006 07:14 PM

We should all meet up somewhere! bit of a trek for me but the hot (lukewarm in my case) hatch thing would be cool with the vRS, fiesta and clio.

TransAm 07-10-2006 02:17 PM

Sounds like a good plan, Tom

Bumping the post...

The Skoda is provisionally sold. I have a new job and can afford something a bit more fun!

WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

8)

TransAm 10-14-2006 12:14 PM

Maybe but maybe not, insurance is very high on S2000 in the UK

M Roadsters are cheaper to insure

I looked at a Clio V6 but decided it was not the car for me...

TT 10-14-2006 12:37 PM

Can't wait to see what's coming!

I'd suggest a Porsche from the 90s ;)

TransAm 10-14-2006 02:12 PM

I thought you might suggest that, TT ;)

topgeartom 10-14-2006 02:14 PM

Clio V6 CLIO V6!!!!!!

DO ITTT.

Pleaseee go for a vee. those things are insane. The again, i am slightly biased.

Ive always liked M-roadsters if your not hardcore enough for a clio vee! :P

TransAm 10-15-2006 12:13 PM

Looked at a 111S today, just a pain to get in and out of though

topgeartom 10-15-2006 01:46 PM

gis 10-15-2006 03:43 PM

go for a DC5 integra type R,maybe an evo or scooby?

TransAm 10-17-2006 02:27 PM

Nahh, want RWD really mate

TopGearNL 10-17-2006 02:35 PM

Vauxhall Monaro

gis 10-17-2006 04:59 PM

M3 :D

TopGearNL 10-17-2006 05:37 PM

RX8 or 350Z? :D

TransAm 10-20-2006 09:47 AM

Who knows, still looking at various cars...

I like the 1 series actually

sameerrao 10-20-2006 09:51 AM

C'mon Transam buy something cool! A used M5?

gis 10-20-2006 10:44 AM

i think he is thinkin on terms of insurance aswell as cars here are not cheap at all to insure

the 1 series is a kinda cool car mate, which would you go for,IMO theres only really 2 cool ones, the M obviously and the 120d. :)

TopGearNL 10-20-2006 10:51 AM

The 120d? why not the petrol version? :?

gis 10-20-2006 11:39 AM

because the diesel is faster and for faster and with fuel prices here, although on there way down, they are still quite high the diesel would be better on fuel with better performance than the 120i.plus he can mod the diesel with the obvious simple chip and increase to near 200hp.

i may be off and he may want the petrol version, just personally the diesel one seems the better option if he isnt considering the M version

Ok I understand now, I imagined that you would have more torque with the Diesel. If it doesn't do under for the petrol one I can understand why you would go for it.

gis 10-20-2006 11:52 AM

yea the petrol version is 150hp and 148 ft/lb torque were as the diesel is 163hp and 251 ft/lb torque.the diesel is only about 5mph faster top end but is close to a second quicker to 60.faster and 50mpg.....i know most people dont care about that :P lol but with fuel prices as they are,its a good sensible bet to go with the diesel :)

TransAm 10-21-2006 02:51 PM

It may well be a diesel, it is going to be a company car so I am limited by the allowance

I might buy something myself as well for the weekends, but I will see about that. Need to buy a house first...

if you are liking the idea of a BMW diesel, the E46 330d are pretty good.and i would think can pick them up for a nice price now.and as a company car,you still get the good mpg :P

as a fun car for the weekend,my mate is pickin up this week his new car of an astra coupe turbo, pretty quick car, quicker than i thought they were, and sellin at a good price now between £7000-£8500 for ones with between 30-50k miles

TransAm 10-30-2006 04:56 PM

Funny you should say that, Dani...

Tonight I picked up a 2004 330d SE saloon (204hp / 410Nm)

It's pretty quick and I am loving it

Pics soon once I have valeted it....

Here she is

ZfrkS62 10-31-2006 04:06 AM

welcome back :D

TopGearNL 10-31-2006 08:19 AM

Congrats on the car, gotta remember this!

topgeartom 11-16-2006 09:01 PM

I know im a bit late on this dude, but congradts on the new beemer!

Although i strongly suspect your already aware superchips do an ecu for 250 but theres a company called dms automotive who claim to give 260bhp+ from the e46 330d. Worth checking out?

gis 11-17-2006 08:40 AM

what did those guys who did the gumball in a 330d do to there car,coz that one was dam quick, even said it was worrying an older GT3 on the highway
