  The F430 is the fastest !!!
That's my favourite of the lot but I guess we won't see a victory like this in every magazine  |
Just shows what a difference 4WD makes in the accelerations tests (The 997TT has 10-30BHp less than the rivals). The reuslts don't really surprise me, the F430 was always the winner. I wonder if the tested Ferrari was equaipped with the optional carbon ceramic brakes, because it's lost that round to the Porsche.
|
^^^ Huh? I always thought AWD hurts acceleration from a standstill because you cant floor the engine. i think the porsche accelerates so well because its so light weight and its designed so well (use the power they have more effectively).
|
The 997 is infact the heaviest out of that bunch, at just under 1600 kg's.
|
Exactly because the 997 Turbo it's a 4WD it should be faster in the accelerations. Just like the 996 Turbo against the 360 Modena.
|
Are those Corsa tyres stock or after market instns? Doesn't the F430 come with GoodYear RunFlats stock?
Hopefully those results show people exactly how close these cars - and that on any given day, any car/driver combo could come out on top. |
ferrari never come with good year
|
Impressive times, although the Z06 seems a bit slow, especially compared to what some American tests have gotten (like 1/2sec slower).

I am sure the F360 shipped with GoodYear, I know the F50 did... I would not be surprised if the F430 didn't ship with GoodYear either. http://es.goodyear.com/services/tyre...s_fiorano.html Quote:

And indeed the Z06 seems slower than in other tests while the F430 is maybe a bit faster than I expected. But it was as fast in R&T and C&D tests if I am correct ... |
Top Gear reviewed F430 and it said CS of 360 tires were better therefore performing better round their track. Cant remember exactly what brand either of them was, but those still curious can play the episode and remember better.

Didn't Ferrari use Good Year tyres while it was using them in F1? Now I'm pretty sure their cars come standard with Bridgestone because of their connection in F1.
|
Even who won or not, I'd choose between the 997TT and the 430... and the gallardo! It's a close call :)
damn, I have to buy all three of them... |

F430 comes with Bridgestone stock but apparently runs much faster on Pirellis
The 599's I have seen have Pirellis on :D |
Oh no, the unbeatable Z06 outrun by a humble 997 turbo. Looking forward to Sport Auto doing a supertest on it to confirm the numbers. Roll on the GT2
|
Wow, what'd they do to that Z06? A base C6 with the Z51 package can run a 4.4 0-62mph time... A Z06 should be around 3.5-3.8 based on the countless reviews I've read.
And the F430 ships with Bridgestones, while the old Challenge Stradale (not sure about the standard 360 Modena...) shipped with Pirellis. |
^^^^ according to R&T 0-60mph in 3.9sec
http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/d...data_panel.pdf not to mention automobilemag http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews...per/stats.html with 4.1 secs for 0-60 mph |

I don't care what the uneducated say, and know that there are haters in every crowd - but I always draw the line at ignoring flatout incorrect and false statements made :) - and will always offer the corrected data for consideraiton. So at times I will remind people of the true numbers.. then I have ALWAYS followed up with the same thing" "All these car are so close it is always a drivers race on the day" Quote:

And this has been the case for many years - but others refuse to accept the fact that the false tripe they have been believing over the years is just that - false tripe :P |

"We bolted our own test equipment to a car at GM's Milford Proving Ground and found it had grunt enough to hurl this 3147-pound coupe to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds" http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...z06/index.html Car and Driver - 3.6 seconds "A few days after our trip, we took a Z06 to GM's Milford proving ground and tested it. It ripped to 60 mph in only 3.6 seconds, hit 100 in 7.9, and 150 in 17.5." http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtest...z06-page2.html Two reviews in the mid-3s by major automotive magazines, proof enough as to what the car is capable of. |

We're still buzzing over the Z06's ferocious 3.4-second burst to 60 mph. That's two-tenths quicker than the Z06 we tested in October. http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...vette-z06.html |
Damn, so the porsche is the heaviest and still up there
|
Take out the italians's corsa tires and it would've been Z06 v 997TT. No Question.
Tires = huge difference in times. Why do you think the M3 CSL came with semi-slicks? |

BTW before being fanboy , what kind of tyres did the other used ? Could it be Michelin Pilot Sport 2 for 911 TT ??? And then you see that although Corsa is King , MPS2 is not far away , hehehe If you don`t have all the data from that test STFU fanboy |
